This week we start with some lovely international news, Birgit Engelsen told us….
‘Today, the Danish royal couple – the crown prince and queen – visited lake Ulsrudvann in Oslo, Norway, close to where we live. Several thousands of people showed up. Krissi, Skaringens Formosa, received a pat from Mette Marit, the Norwegian crown princess, who said: “Oh so cute”. Queen Mary also came over to Krissi, petted her and asked which breed she was. So nice to be able to show off our beloved curly breed, and that they noticed Krissi among so many people and dogs, tells you how beautiful this breed is, and Krissi is a great representative.‘
‘Krissi’ is the daughter of Quito – Maycourt Kashmir Con Redanimo, owned by Roz Davies & Lee Bradstock.
The Curly Coated Retriever Club Championship Show, 13 July 2024
The 40th CCRC Championship Show is now available to enter through Fossedata – entries close at Midnight on Sunday 30 June 2024.
We have a Curly filled weekend with the show on Saturday 13 and Fun Day on Sunday 14 of July! Held at the lovely Oswestry Agricultural Showground, with camping available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be lots of curlies there over the weekend, with lots of activities to take part in. We will also the Raffle, Tombola, and ofcourse the Curly Coated Retriever UK Club Shop!
The Committee looks forward to seeing you there, so come along for a wonderful weekend….

Nina Parker-Miles told us,
‘It was a gorgeous evening spent in good company.
We practised some memory retrieves and marked retrieves sending for the marked and then the memory. Then we did some blinds in rough cover. Marked and then blinds over a wall and then a memory retrieve that had been set up 20 minutes before. Jill was very pleased with all the dogs as she is pushing us quite hard. We had Rachel and Kopis (Roughyeds Regal George At Treecave) and Beau (Fleetpaw One For Arthur At HisRiver) with Heather and Wren (Overbore’s Ace Of Hearts) and I. Suzy’s girls were in season.
Kopis is like a rocket going off!!‘

Six Curlies took part in the training day at Sunnymead. Lesley Eden told us,
‘Thanks to Su Carlin and to bundles of enthusiasm from all the handlers, pups finished by 11.15 and Novice by 12.15 before it became too hot and then on to coffee and cake. Great to meet up.‘
