Judge’s Critique:
Many thanks for the lovely entry, I was looking for a sound dog, with ample bone, in a tight crisp jacket, which in my eye represented the breed standard. Sadly some exhibits were not presented as clean as I would have expected.
What I did find pleasing was that the main winners still appreciated their cards.
Lastly thank you so much to my very competent stewards.

1st: STEPHENS, Brightmeadow Rumour Has It BP
Quality balanced black youngster, presenting a clean outline, stacked & on the move, correct head shape & eye, tidy front, standing on super firm feet, ample bone throughout, well ribbed for age, good wide thighs, so well schooled moving out on a good stride, holding himself well, excellent tail set, coat of good texture for age.
2nd: EDWORTHY’S Brightmeadow Man Of Steel.
Has all the attributes of his litter brother, just not quite so forward, he has a balanced outline, pleasing head shape & eye, plenty of bone & body, well angulated rear just rather soft throughout, which showed in his movement.

1st: JAMES Kahawei Sea The Stars
Liver with plenty of scope, liked his overall balance, and super clean outline, masculine in head, with good eye colour, giving the softest expression, tight feet on well boned legs, excels in neck, moves soundly at correct pace, on an excellent stride, holding himself well, strong hindquarters, with wide thighs, excellent tail carriage, tight crisp curls presented in tip top hard condition.
2nd: HAYES & MOORE’S Roughyeds Regal Weir.
Black with decent balance & coat, not so mature as first, or the accurate driving action, pleasing wedge shaped head, with dark eye, tidy front, feet could be tighter, well ribbed back, ample angulation to rear, needs to firm up throughout, but has time on his side.
3rd: LOCKWOOD’S Roughyeds Regal Drive With Lockenna.
PGD (4 Entries) Abs: 2
1st: HUCKLE’S Foxriever Storm Cloud.
Much to like about this dogs overall appearance and type, masculine head of correct proportions, soft expressive eye, straight front on tidy round feet, strength in topline & muscular loin, wide thighs with ample angulation, moved out with driving action on a good stride, with good head carriage, & well set tail, coat of good texture.
2nd: BARBER & BARBER’S Tonispada Vuori Vincent By Blanshard.
Well made Black, presenting a good balance, shorter coupled than first, in profile his head seemed a little long in muzzle, but he has a gentle expression, tidy front, & firm feet, muscular neck, into well laid shoulders, strength through topline, & loin, well angulated rear, with good tail set, just preferred the head of first, and for me first had the edge on movement today, presented in good coat.
LD (4 Entries) Abs: 2
Difficult to split these two exhibits, both having excellent breed type.
1st: HODSON’S Rowancurl Gentle Gaelo
Masculine black with tight crisp coat, with ample breed type, presenting a clean outline, well proportioned head with dark eye, tidy straight front, with strong bone, firm feet, good spring of rib & level back, strength through loin, muscular well angled wide thighs, won here on his sound action, covering plenty of ground.
2nd: STUBBS, Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale
Substantial black, with super breed type, head with flat skull & strong muzzle, tidy front, with strong bone standing on the best of feet, good forechest, & muscular neck, firm through topline & loin, well angulated wide muscular thighs, presented in super coat, although sound, just let himself down on the move today.
OD (7 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: SOLOMON’S Sh Ch Foxriever Mystic Marvel At Elkysar CC & BOB.
Quality throughout on this smart upstanding black, presented in first class condition, strength in body & bone, deep brisket, firm in topline & well muscled loin, wide second thighs, not overdone in head, but certainly all male, excellent eye giving a soft expression a little proud of his tail today, but couldn’t be denied top spot for his overall type, & sound positive driving action, on the best of feet, looks like he could do a days work.
2nd: PARKER-MILES, Tengore Mr Moonlight RDCC
Black, worthy of his place here, mature & masculine, without exaggeration, fitted my standard for type & balance, eye of good colour & well set ears, tidy front & round feet, well laid back shoulders, firm through topline, good rear angulation, moved out soundly with drive holding himself well, with good tail carriage, presentation first class in coat & body condition.

Well put together with good body proportions, tidy straight front with ample bone & firm feet, balanced head of correct shape, with pleasing eye, clean well placed shoulders, deep chest, strength through body, liked her wide thighs, moved soundly.
2nd: STEAD’S Firecurl Firefly Of Holmecliffe
Balanced bitch, with decent coat, but finer throughout, not quite the expression of first, tidy in front, ribbed well back, level topline, needs to strengthen in rear, outline spoilt, as she tends to stand straight in stifle, moved o.k.

1st: STEPHENS, Brightmeadow Come On Eileen
Another quality youngster from this kennel, she wasn’t quite so together as her brother, in the challenge, feminine wedge shaped head, with dark eye, ample bone, super strong coat for her age, tidy front & firm feet, moved out with positive action & good tail carriage.
2nd: CHURCH & BAMFORD’S Brightmeadow Rock My World For Pafaxen
This dark liver doesn’t have the maturity of first as yet, in head or body, but she has plenty of time, she has a dark eye with soft expression, tidy front & firm feet, good length of neck, she has good ribbing, and I liked her wide thighs, she move out well with confidence.

1st: DISLEY’S Firecurl Redwing
Black, with lovely balanced head & eye, giving an excellent expression, well boned straight front, tidy feet, ample neck, flowing into well placed shoulders, ribbed well back, level through topline, good rear angulation, liked her wide thighs, moved soundly, coat could be better.
2nd: CLACK & EDDERY’S Epsilon Adhara At Molokain
Well balanced liver in a smaller frame, liked her head shape, & expression, tidy front & feet, firm through body & topline, ribbed well back, good angulation to rear, well presented with crisp coat, movement would be better at a slower pace, good tail carriage.

Liked this youngster for her overall balance & accurate movement, still some maturing to do, but for me on the day, she deserved her win. Head of good balance, skull to muzzle ratio, eye soft & gentle expression, good length of neck, tidy in front, with firm round feet, plenty of body & ribbing for age, ample rear angulation, with wide second thighs, presented in a good tight curly coat & lovely condition.
2nd: PERKINS ‘S Maycourt Miss Sweetness At Tengore
Another well constructed feminine bitch, with plenty of breed type, not so forward as first, but I liked her overall type, & size, wedge shaped head, & soft expression, tidy well boned front on strong feet, deep chests & good ribbing, ample rear angulation, not the wide thighs of first, coat coming, clean front action not so positive in rear.

1st: CHATTWOOD & ALLMARK’S Tusepo Love Me Like You Do At Pendlecurl
Good balance to this Black bitch, her head was flat in skull with strong muzzle, presenting a soft expressive eye, front was tidy & well boned, feet could be firmer, ample muscular neck, good lay of shoulders, level topline & strength through loin, good rear angulation, holds herself well on the move, presenting driving action.
2nd: MOSKOWITZ’S Ravenho Mochara Cadeaux
Liked her overall construction, & type, good wedged shaped feminine head, straight tidy front, feet better than first, liked her length of neck & well placed shoulders, firm level topline, deep ribbing, wide thighs, would prefer a better hind angulation, pleasing presentation & coat, moved o.k, didn’t show herself off to her advantage.

Black of good honest type, in a tight crisp jacket, feminine well balanced head, with lovely soft expression, good forechest, straight front with tidy feet, muscular neck of good length, well ribbed, firm through topline & loin, muscular rear with good angulation, moved out holding herself well, with plenty of drive, with good tail carriage, presented in tip top hard condition, pulled out all the stops to win top award.
2nd: BAIN & BAIN’S Crimblescurl Time To Tango At Wenichones JW
Well put together black, reminded me of the old fashioned type, coat of good texture & curl, liked her balanced head, with strength in muzzle, strong neck, plenty of bone, tidy feet, firm topline, held well on the move, deep muscular loin, well angulated rear with good muscletone, sound driving action.

Although not quite 2 years she was an easy winner in this class, for me she just didn’t have the sparkle, of top winners today on the move. Presents a clean outline, in a crisp black jacket, wedge shape head, with expressive eye, straight well boned front, clean through neck & shoulders, deep ribbing, would prefer a little more strength through body, wide muscular thighs, moved out true, on a good stride, with excellent tail carriage.
2nd: CUMMINGS, Molokain Enchanted One
Pleasing outline to this balanced black, well proportioned head, with good eye, front is tidy on round feet, clean through muscular neck & shoulders, strength in topline & body, good width to thighs, presented in good coat, couldn’t match the driving action of first.
