Sandringham Game & Country Fair, 7 & 8 September 2024


Rachel Arnold and Kopis did a sterling job on the Curly Stand at Sandringham over the weekend. Rachel said they were very, very busy and gave away lots of Curly cuddles. They had a visit from Ethan-James Emery and Murdoch on Sunday, and they really enjoyed helping out.

CCRC Champ Show 2025
Voting will be opening shortly for the judge of the 2025 Curly Coated Retriever Club Championship Show – Eligible members please watch out for your email to enable you to submit your vote online. Voting papers will be sent out in the post to those members who received them previously.

In addition to the four main winners, I also shortlisted the Pointer, Retriever (Chesapeake Bay), Retriever (Curly Coated) and the Spanish Water Dog. There were some nice youngsters in this group who should do very well in the future.

YKC Members’ Stakes (13)
1 Epsilon Adhara at Molokain, Breed: Retriever (Curly Coated) (Clack & Eddery & Clack) this young handler was on top form, he watched his charge continually. He had her stacked when ever I looked around the class and on the move they were a team, correct speed for both.

Ring Steward Junior Stakes (32)
2 Epsilon Adhara at Molokain, Breed: Retriever (Curly Coated) (Clack & Eddery & Clack) liver who was a pleasing type shape and size for her age. Well constructed wedge shaped head with pleasing eye shape and colour. Strong neck and correct shoulder placement. Well boned and very good feet, deep through brisket leading to well shaped angulation, movement was good.

NGA Open Stakes (30)
2 Tessmene Tickety Boo, Breed: Retriever (Curly Coated) (Carrick) black with pleasing outline and balance, super feminine expression, clean through the neck leading to correct forechest and front assembly, correct depth of brisket and well bodied, super tight curl, correct hindquarters and moved ok, shown in good condition.

St Andrews, Cupar and District Canine Club Show, 1 June 2024

1 Bain’s Crimblescurl Time To Tango At Wenichones. 3 year old bitch, produced in lovely fit condition. Handled to advantage, in good coat. Well off for bone and stood on neat feet, Nice dark eye in attractive head, strong neck leading to well set shoulders, with good lay back, well sprung ribs with plenty of heart and lung room. Slight run up to flank, and good top line. Moved out and back with purpose and power. BOB.

1 Gill & Peake’s Raveno Midnight Miracle at Saxonholme. Although she was the only one to turn up she was excellent with a wedge shaped head and dark eyes. She also has very good confirmation well laid shoulders, a good return of upper arm, straight forelegs and neat feet. She has a particular good thick mass of coat. Neat tight curls lying close to the skin. She moved very well with good reach and drive. Please to award her Best of Breed.
