Judge’s Critique:
I was happy to take on this breed as I had missed them at Manchester when I had to withdraw through a viral infection. I found the type and size varied so my decisions were not always easy. Many thanks to my stewards Sue and Doug Telford.

1 Spencer Crimblescurl Elm 4 years old black dog very typy and with excellent balance and outline. Very good coat and rib. Good bone and feet. Quality head. Eye could be a shade darker. Good front action. A little close in rear.

VD/B (4)
1 Whitehead Sh Ch Kelsmere Kamana For Foxriever Sh.CM 9-year-old black bitch in good form and carrying herself well. Her rear movement could be stronger but scored in rib and coat to win this.
2 Mistlin Maycourt Starman By Crookwood Sh.CM 9-year-old liver dog I liked his size and balance and lovely head. Losing his body condition now and this showed in his topline and coat. He has retained his soundness on the move.
3 Leggett Kagemusha Ki-ken-tai.

PD (4,1) Good class of quality puppies.
1 Riva Tessmene Rock That Look 10-month-old black dog who is very shapely and a good mover. He needs to grow on and spring in ribs. He is well made at both ends which gives him a good stride.
2 Sutton & Whitehead Foxriever Grey Ghost 10-month-old liver dog, taller dog whom I liked for size and proportions but he needs time to fill his frame. Sound moving. He needs to drop in chest. At the moment his is a little plain in head but time can do a lot for him. He has promise.
3 Edworthy Maycourt City Lights.

1 Finch Molokain Doing The Do At Cetgueli 12-month-old quality dog with good outline and balance. Could have a little more rear angulation but his movement is strong and he scored in shoulder angulation.
2 Valentine Ravenho Tallow Tango At Pattonia 13-month-old black. He has more rear angulation than the winner but falls off a little too severely to tailset. Good skull and eye. Could have a little more muzzle. Good bone. Can fill out in chest. Excellent curl to coat. A teenager who will be helped by maturity.
3 Sutton & Whitehead Foxriever Grey Ghost.

1 Finch Molokain Doing The Do At Cetgueli repeat.
2 Brendon Tessmene Tornados Trail 3-year-old heavier dog who is a little short on the leg for balance. However, he has good angulation and his rear movement was excellent. Really good coat. Strong head.
3 Spencer Crimblescurl Elm.

1 Millichamp & Miller Foxriever Solent Sensation At Wightcurls 5-year-old liver top size but very fluent on the move. Great body and bone. I’d prefer a little more refinement on the head but scored in rib and movement to win this.
2 Stubbs Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale 2 years 10 months black a lot of quality. He needs to fill out in body. Quality head which I preferred to winner but he needs a touch more leg for perfect balance. Stylish on the move.
3 Hodson Rowancurl Gentle Gaelor.

1 Stephens Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW Sh.CM I have not seen this dog in the breed since he was a minor puppy at his first show where he won the reserve CC and I predicted a good future. He has certainly lived up to that. Today in the breed I liked him for the same qualities of movement, quarters, coat and his head and eye. He is not the tallest of dogs and I might prefer a little more scope to him. However, he won DCC and BOB for his qualities.
2 Solomon Foxriever Mystic Marvel At Elkysar taller dog. I liked him a lot for his size and proportions, head, eye and bone. Very good ribcage. Not the coat or rear action of the winner on the day but full of type. Reserve DCC.
3 Parker-Miles Tengore Mr Moonlight.

1 Hawley-Clarke Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory 5-year-old liver, great substance and rib. I’d prefer more refinement in the head and a touch more leg for balance.

PB (5)
1 Carrick Chimene Tessmene Tickety Boo 10-month-old big bodied bitch with lovely lines and good movement. I would prefer a little more leg on her but full of type including an excellent coat. Very good bone. Should have a good future. BP.
2 Flaher, Tessmene Icing On The Cake By Kagemusha 10 mth old liver with good outline and ribs and coat. Her head needs time to develop and eyes can darken. Very good stride.

1 Stephens Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow 13-month-old black of lovely proportions and good leg length. I liked her head shape which would be enhanced further by a slightly darker eye. In good coat. She is a very good mover, always holding her shape. RBCC.
2 Clack Molokain Hocus Pocus 12-month-old liver bitch who is a little longer in balance than the winner. Good head with dark, correctly shaped eyes. on the move her handler needs to get more out of her to see her movement at its best. She is sound but lethargic: perhaps the heat on the day.

1 Whitehead Gypsy’s Soul First Lady For Foxriever 19-month-old with lovely balance, bone, rib and substance and in good coat. I liked her head and eyes. Falls away too severely over the croup which detracts from her outline. Strong quarters and movement and carried herself well.
2 Hayes & Chattwood & Walton Gorchest’s Pendlecurl’s Rising Star At Pepperiever this 2-year-old black caught my eye immediately going round the ring for her stride and carriage. She has a beautiful coat and combines femininity with sufficient bone. However, she needs to fill out in ribcage and I hope maturity will do that for her and she will go further.
3 Parker-Miles Master Henry Overbore’s Ace Of Hearts.

1 Carrick Tessmene The Cats Whiskers 3-year-old black, substantial and scopey. In superb coat. She is well made at both ends and this results in excellent movement. Good head shape and eyes. Perhaps a touch long for balance but she is full of quality and carried herself well. BCC and pressed the dog hard for BOB.
2 Courtier Maycourt Stairway To Heaven JW 2-year-old liver bitch of lovely quality and ultra sound on the move. Lovely head and eyes. Shown in good coat. Not yet fully mature in ribs and body but should have a good future.

OB (2,1)
1 Spraggins Tusepo Amazing Love 3-year-old liver bitch, feminine, shown in good coat. She has enough bone and good spring of ribs. Sound moving but not the scope or topline of the winner bitches today. Everything in proportion. Sound action.
