Judge’s Critique:
Firstly a big thank you for the invitation to judge my wonderful breed at WELKS, always a superbly run show. Many thanks to my Stewards on the day for keeping the ring running smoothly and the exhibitors who supported me. I would like to mention all exhibits had good dentition & were in great coats.

1 Clack & Clack & Battle-Hunter & Eddery’s Krisbos Leonidas With Molokain (IKC) 13mth old black boy full of breed type, pleasing wedge shaped head with dark eye & neat ears, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front with good depth of chest for age & slight tuck up, strong topline & tailset, medium rear angles with good muscle tone, cat like feet, presented in great jacket of crisp curls, well off for bone, moved out well fore & aft, handled well, RBD.
2 Kear & Morrey’s Foxriever Infinite Spirit (AI) 6mth old liver boy, first time in the ring for dog & handler, a little nervous at first but did manage to go over him, just needs more practice, a sweet boy who is raw at present, head nicely shaped with eye colour to match coat & clean neck into layback of shoulder, good forechest for age & ribs developing well, level topline & tailset, correct turn of stifle with hocks well let down, compact feet, nice bone throughout, coat in great condition of tight liver curls, unsettled on the move so hard access fully but will come with time, BPIB.
PGD (1)
1 Stephen’s Brightmeadow Rumour Has It JW, 17mth old black boy, wedge shaped head with level planes & neat ears with dark eye, good length of neck into shoulder placement, level topline & tailset, deep chest with spring of rib & slight tuck up, well angulated rear quarters with muscled 2nd thigh, standing on good legs & short hocks, well boned throughout, neat feet, coat of crisp curls, moved soundly.
OD (3,1a)
1 Stephen’s Ravenho Looks Like Trouble For Brightmeadow, 3yr old mature black boy oozing breed type, head of good shape with melting dark eye & neat ears, neck flowing into well placed shoulders, super forechest with plenty of heart room with spring of rib, strong topline & tailset, muscled well throughout, lovely turn of stifle with short hocks well let down, just loved the bone of this boy, in super jacket with good texture, moved out with style, pleased to award him BD.
2 Stubbs Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale, 4yr old black male, unfortunate to meet 1 today, masculine wedge shaped head with alert dark eye, pleasing length of neck into well laid shoulders, deep chest with spring of rib & slight tuck up, good topline, well muscled 2nd thigh, not rear angulation of 1, strong feet & short hocks, nice texture to coat with plenty of tight curl, moved okay.
PGB (6,3a)
1 Perkins Maycourt Miss Sweetness At Tengore, 2yr old black girl, attractive head with sweet expression & kind dark eye with neat ears, clean neck into well developed forequarters with straight forelegs & well off for bone, good depth of chest with spring of rib & slight tuck up, level flowing topline & tailset, lovely bend of stifle with hocks well let down, good feet, muscular hindquarters, dense coat of crisp curls, could have been moved a little quicker to show reach & drive to full advantage.
2 Gill & Peake’s Ravenho Midnight Miracle At Saxenholme, 2yr old black girlie, pretty wedge shaped head with kind dark eye showing an aloof expression & correct earset, good reach of neck into shoulder placement, straight front construction, good depth of chest with spring of rib & slight tuck up, firm topline & tailset, lovely turn of stifle & muscled 2nd thigh, coat in good condition of crisp curls, moved okay.
3 Stephen’s Brightmeadow Come on Eileen.

1 Stephen’s ShCh Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow JW, 2yr old young girl, have judged her before & not disappointed as she pulled all the stops out today, full of breed type & quality this feminine showgirl, correct size with a super aloof look and that touch of elegance I was looking for, loved her head eye shape & dark colour with neat ears framing the face, excellent forehand construction with well laid shoulders, deep chest with spring of rib, strong level topline & tailset used well to excel round the ring to exhibit reach & drive, muscled hindquarters with developed 2nd thigh, well angulated rear quarters & hocks well let down, in great bone, cat like feet, handled to perfection to complete the overall picture, more than happy to award her BB & BOB.
2 Clack & Eddery’s ShCh Molokain Hocus Pocus, another beautiful 2yr old black girlie, unfortunately not on her best form but I did hear later she had some heat in her back & possibly had tweaked something which explained her unsteadiness today, feminine head with a super expression & a gentle kind dark eye typical of the breed, correct earset & a strong clean neck flowing into shoulder placement, lovely depth of chest with spring of rib for age, slight tuck up with correct rear angulation, in great muscle tone, firm topline & tailset, short hocks & strong pasterns with neat feet, well off for bone, coat presented in great condition texture & crisp curls, shame she wasn’t settled today to show her usual reach & drive, I really love this young lady but she gave her handler an unusual hard time today. RBB.
3 Perkins Tengore Ruby Tuesday.
