RETRIEVER CURLY COATED: Thank you to the committee for my appointment today and for organising such a well-run show, and my stewards who did an excellent job. I would also like to extend my thanks to all the exhibitors for accepting my decisions sportingly. A nice entry with some worthy winners, I felt that some places could easily be reversed given a different day, as some dogs were not in peak condition on the day, either slightly out of coat, or carrying a little too much weight. Mouths overall were good, but movement needs to improve, some dogs looked good stacked but lacked any drive or extension when moving. VD/B (2,1) 1 Spraggins Pepperiever Love in a Mist at Tusepo. 8-year-old black bitch. Nice feminine head, correct eye, good reach of neck, excellent coat, moved well for her age. Sp Working D/B (1) 1 Findlow CH All I Ever Wanted Golightly With Roughyeds (IMP LVA) 5-year-old black bitch. Very feminine with beautiful soft expression. Good forechest spring of rib and well coupled. Good rear angulation and beautiful movement. Just slightly out of coat today but worthy winner. PD (3) 1 Edworthy Maycourt Heartbreaker. 9 ½ month black dog. Lovely, elegant head and reach of neck, well laid shoulders, nice tight feet, needs time to body up but nice deep chest and well angulated rear end. Moved ok once settled. 2 Stubbs Brightmeadow Take Your Time at Densdale. Very elegant, nice soft expression, good reach of neck and nice forechest and spring of rib. Well coupled and good rear angulation. Excellent coat. Just lost out on maturity to the 1st dog today but I’m sure these two will swap places many times. 3 Clayton Lizallwood Mr Bojangles. JD (3,1) 1 Edworthy Maycourt Heartbreaker. 2 Solomon Foxriever Mystic Marvel. Tall imposing black dog of 16 months. Beautiful balance and outline when stood. Lovely head and expression good forechest, nice tight feet good lay of shoulder and well coupled. Good rear angulation and in excellent coat. Just lacking drive on the move but this could improve with maturity. PGD (1) 1 Tarelli Firecurl Some Like It Hot at Tarockwood. Large, 2-year-old liver dog, good head and eye and lovely reach of neck. Nice tight feet and good spring of rib, nice rear angulation, moved well. LD (3) 1 Tarelli Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda at Tarockwood. Solid black dog, excellent bone, good weight and size, good reach of neck and well coupled with good rear angulation, good hard condition, moved freely with good extension. 2 Bett Infallibles Black Crusader at Kelsmere. 2-year-old black dog, excellent bone, nice head and expression, lovely reach of neck, good forechest well coupled, excellent feet, lovely topline. Just missed out on top spot as first dog was more settled on the move. 3 Driscoll Fleetpaw One for Arthur at Hisriver. OD (3) 1 Stephens SH CH Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW SHCM. 4-year-old black dog, real ring presence, lovely head and soft expression, good reach of neck into good lay of shoulder. Excellent bone and nice tight feet. Good spring of rib, well coupled, and good bend of stifle into well let down hocks. Moved freely around the ring maintaining his topline on the move. Pleased to award him the CC and BOB and delighted he then went onto BIS. 2 Titley Fleetpaw Wondering Star. 5-year-old black, nice head and expression, good bone, nice balanced outline, good neck which flowed into lovely forechest, good spring of rib and well bent stifle. Good crisp curl. Just lacked the drive on the move in the challenge, but lovely mature dog. 3 Edworthy Maycourt Cadillac. PB (2) 1 Courtier Maycourt Stairway to Heaven. 9-month liver bitch. Lovely elegance, nice soft head and expression, good bone, nice tight feet, good spring of rib and well balanced throughout. Moved ok once she settled. 2 Stephens Brightmeadow Take One Look. Sweet black bitch, much smaller in type than 1st, and lighter in bone, very feminine. Lovely forechest and spring of rib, excellent tight curl and well balanced throughout. Would just prefer a firmer topline. Well handled. JB (3,1) 1 PerkinsTengore Ruby Tuesday. Lovely, elegant 17-month-old black bitch. Lovely soft expression, good reach of neck and nice level topline, good rear angulation. Nice tight feet. Moved freely with good extension. 2 Courtier Maycourt Spraggins Stairway to Heaven. YB (3.1) 1st Tusepo Amazing Love. 20-month liver bitch. Lovely elegance, good head and eye, good level topline, nicely tucked up and good rear angulation. Moved well. 2 Perkins Tengore Sweet Georgia Brown. 17-month liver bitch very similar in build to 1st. Nice head and expression, nice tight feet good reach of neck and well coupled. Has a tendency to straighten her stifle when stood. Moved well. NB (3,1) 1 Spraggins Tusepo Amazing Love . 2 Eden Roughyeds Minnie Caldwell. 2-year-old black bitch, very feminine nice reach of neck and lay of shoulder, well tucked up and well balanced throughout. Moved well. Just needs time to mature but promising youngster. GB (3,1) 1 Clayton Firecurl Georgie Porgie. 2-year-old liver bitch shown in good hard condition. Nice head and expression well balanced throughout, moved with drive maintaining her topline on the move. 2 Findlow Roughyeds Audrey Roberts . Elegant black bitch of fine build, feminine head and good reach of neck well balanced throughout with good bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Moved ok, unfortunately not in her best coat today. PGB (2) 1 Clayton Firecurl Georgie Porgie. 2 Findlow Roughyeds Audrey Roberts. LB (4,1) 1 James Kahawei Teal JW . 3-year-old black bitch. Really caught my eye when she entered the ring. Lovely feminine head and soft expression, good forechest, spring of rib and well coupled. Nice tight feet good rear angulation and lovely topline that was maintained on the move. Moved well with reach and drive. Pleased to award her the CC and delighted it was her 3rd. 2 Davies & Margerison Infallibles Black Velvet at Kandrelli. Another feminine bitch, well balanced throughout, good forechest and well coupled with good bend of stifle. Lovely topline and presented in excellent coat, just lost out on the challenge as the 1st had more drive on the move, but these two bitches could change places anytime. 3 Stephens Brightmeadow Who’s That Girl. OB (1) 1 Spraggins Maycourt Hot Love at Tusepo. Lovely liver 5-year-old bitch. Shown in excellent hard condition, correct head and expression, strong neck into good lay of shoulder, well balanced throughout with good rear angulation. Would have preferred a little less weight which would have improved her chances in the challenge. Moved well.
