Judge’s Critique:
Many thanks for the invitation to judge our lovely breed at this superbly run Championship Show, I had a very enjoyable day thanks to a super entry and I would like to thank all the exhibitors that came under me on the day. I would like to mention that it was a pleasure to see so many good coats & correct bites, the breed is definitely improving, good news for the future.
PD – (2, 1a) –
1 James’s Kahawei Sea The Stars, 6 mth old liver boy, nice head shape with dark eye, correct earset, pleasing expression, good dentition, neck flowing into layback of shoulder, straight front, level topline & tailset, chest developing, slight tuck up, well boned throughout, good muscle for age, neat feet, good bend of stifle, in excellent jacket, happy boy on the move, will watch his progress for the future.
JD – (5, 1a) –
1 Finch’s Molokain Doing The Do At Cetgueli,16 mth old black boy, wedge shaped head with a masculine expression & dark eye, neat ears & correct bite, nice length of neck leading into shoulder placement, level topline would just prefer a slightly lower tail carriage, deep chest with spring of rib & tuck up, in fabulous condition & coat, catlike feet, medium rear angles, presented & handled well, moved out with style, has to have a bright future.
2 Sutton, Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Grey Ghost,14 mth old liver boy, correct shaped head with good eye colour, nice earset, adequate neck into layback of shoulder, deep chest with tuck up, level topline & tailset, medium rear angles with short hock, standing on good feet, well boned throughout, coat of crisp curls, unsettled on the move so hard to assess, but still has plenty of time on his side.
3 Green’s Ravenho Comradai.

1 Sutton’s Kelsmere Kaddington, 6 yr old black dog, masculine strong boy, wedge shaped head of good proportions, dark eye & nice ear placement, good dentition, strong neck going into a straight front construction, level topline & tailset, deep chest, a little long in hock, muscled well throughout, another super coat of crisp curls, movement okay when settled.
OD – (5, 1a) –
1 Brookes Infallibles Black Crusader At Kelsmere (Imp Nor), 4 yr old black dog, when I saw this boy enter the ring he was just oozing quality from head to tail, full of breed type, super head shape with a warm dark eye & a melting masculine expression, neck flowing into shoulder placement with a straight front construction and return of forearm, fabulous forechest with spring of rib, deep chest with slight tuck up, level topline & tailset, super angles throughout, hocks well let down, neat feet, well off for bone, super coat of crisp curls, good muscle tone, presented in excellent condition & moved with style, very happy to award him BD & BOB.
2 Stubb’s Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale, 3yr old black boy, have judged this boy as a youngster & very pleased to see how he has matured nicely, head of good proportions with pleasing expression & dark eye, good earset, elegant neck into layback of shoulder, forechest & rib have developed well with tuck up, level topline, medium rear angles & short hocks, neat feet, in good jacket, well muscled rear quarters & moved with purpose, very unfortunate to meet 1 today, RBD.

1 Green’s Ravenho Comradai Cymro, 16 mth black dog, young boy with masculine wedge shaped head, dark eye, neat ears, good reach of neck into layback of shoulder, lacking in forearm, deep chest with tuck up, level topline but dropping off a little at the croup, medium rear angles, presented in a lovely coat of crisp curls, well off for bone, unsettled on the move, BSB.
2 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic At Thunderguard, 16 mth old black dog, pleasing expression, a little heavy in head, dark eye & correct bite, adequate neck into shoulder placement, deep chest with tuck up, level topline & tailset, a little long in hock, in good jacket, needs more second thigh which would strengthen rear quarters and improve movement, not a happy boy in the ring today.

1 Driscoll’s Overbore Bombette For Hisriver, 11 mth old black girl, pretty feminine expression, good shape to head, dark eye & nice earset, adequate neck into shoulder placement, straight front with chest developing nicely, lovely tuck up, level topline & tailset, medium rear angles, second thigh developing, neat feet, presented in super curly coat, nicely boned throughout but not overdone retaining a touch of elegance, moved out well for one so young, happy girl and pleased to award her BPIB.
2 Mercer & Thomas’s Kahawei Catch The Stars Over Stormacre, 6 mth old black girl, unfortunate to meet 1 today in maturity, lovely feminine expression, dark eye & neat ears, pleasing head shape, good length of neck into layback of shoulder, nice angles throughout, level topline & tailset, chest right for age with tuck up, well let down hocks, neat feet, in good jacket, well balanced throughout, moved with purpose, definitely one to watch in the future.

1 Stephen’s Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow JW, 16 mth young black girl, caught my eye when she entered the ring, beautiful feminine expression, wedge shaped head with level planes, dark eye & neat ears, neck flowing into front construction with layback of shoulder, topline & tailset which was held well on the move to her advantage, deep chest with spring of rib & nice tuck up, powerful rear quarters & well angled, well let down hocks, standing on good legs with neat feet, presented in superb coat of crisp curls, oozing breed type, a beautifully balanced bitch, excelled round the ring with reach & drive, a pleasure to award her BB.
2 Gill & Peake’s Ravenho Midnight Miracle At Saxonholme, 16 mth old black sister to 1, very nice quality, sweet feminine expression, dark eye & good dentition, neck into layback of shoulder, lovely straight front construction, good chest for age with tuck up, level topline & tailset, medium rear angles, good feet, not quite bone of 1, in good coat, not quite as confident as 1 but a nice balanced bitch, movement not as free as 1 but a lot to like about her, interesting to watch her progress.
3 McKenzie’s Ravenho Toulouse Latresco At Beddgelert.

1 Evan’s Rowancurl Beachcomber, 2 yr old black bitch, another nice youngster with a lot to like, pleasing feminine expression with dark eye & correct bite, a little short in neck, straight front, level topline, promising depth of chest but too much tuck up, medium rear angles, with maturity she should fill out nicely, in good coat & showing a touch of elegance, moved okay, a lot of positive attributes for the future.
2 Moskowitz’s Brightmeadow Moondance, 4 yr old liver bitch with wedge shaped head & sweet expression, eye colour good, ears a little long for me, nice length of neck into shoulder placement, straight front, nice forechest with spring of rib, slight tuck up, level topline & tailset, medium bend of stifle, short hocks, in good jacket, lacking second thigh & didn’t hold the topline on the move, very workmanlike.

1 Hayes, Biglin, Walton & Chatwood’s Gorechest’s Pendlecurls’s Rising Star At Pepperiever, 2 yr old black girl, well proportioned young bitch, have judged her before as a puppy & not dissapointed how she’s developed, very pretty feminine bitch, nice shape of head with dark eye & correct earset, good bite, neck flowing into layback of shoulder, level topline & tailset, straight front, chest developing lovely for age with slight tuck up, medium rear angles, well let down hocks, good muscle tone throughout, cat like feet, crisp curly coat, moved out well, pushed hard for top honours, RBB.
2 Cummins Molokain Enchanted One, 4yr old black bitch, larger girl than 1, feminine head with soft expression wedge shaped with dark eye & neat ears, strong neck going into layback of shoulder, straight front construction, deep chest with spring of rib, good tuck up, level topline & tailset, correct bend of stifle with short hocks, well muscled second thigh, in super coat of tight curls, well boned, a lot to like to like about her, just on the day a little heavy for me over the shoulders, moved okay.

1 Clack’s Molokain Ilusia, 8 yr old black bitch, lovely wedge shaped head with a warm expression, dark eye & neat ears, good length of neck into layback of shoulder, straight front, deep chest with tuck up, just a little dip on topline but good tailset, medium rear angles, in great jacket, moved steadily round the ring, happy to award her BV.
SBB – (2, 0a)
1 McKenzie’s Ravenho Toulouse Latresco At Beddgelert, 16 mth old black bitch, soft expression with good head shape & dark eye with good earset, nice neck into shoulder placement, a little upright in shoulder, good depth of chest & tuck up, level topline, just dropping off the croup a little, medium rear angles, good muscle tone, in good jacket, moved okay.
2 Clack’s Molokain Hocus Pocus, 16 mth old black bitch, good shaped head with a sweet expression, dark eye & correct earset, good length of neck into layback of shoulder, straight front, deep chest with tuck up, level topline & tailset, good bend of stifle with short hocks, feet okay, in good coat, not the muscletone of 1 & not the drive on the move.
