Judge’s Critique:

Thank you to the committee of Manchester Show for the invitation to judge and their hospitality. Many thanks to my excellent stewards Lizbeth and Grant who kept the ring running efficiently the whole time, that was greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the exhibitors for such a wonderful entry and bringing your dogs for my opinion, an entry of 16 puppies was amazing, thank you.
MPD (7,1)
1 Boorman & Brown, Kahawei Star Catcher. Mature liver boy on his last day in M.P. Smart and strong with well-shaped head and dark eye. Clean neck into good shoulder placement. Chest is deep, front straight, feet round and tight. Hindquarters are moderately angulated. He moved true and with confidence.
2 Hayes & Moore, Roughyeds Regal Weir. This black boy lost a little in maturity today. His head is well shaped, neck of correct length but now needs to muscle up. Clean straight front and stands on good feet. Good chest and ribbing. Moved well in profile but just a little close moving away.
3 Dick, Firecurl Excalibur.

1 James, Kahawei Sea The Stars. Mature young male just having the edge over his brother today. Good wedge-shaped head with dark eye. Neck is strong into well laid shoulders. Straight front with nice fore chest, stands on lovely feet. Body is balanced with good topline into firm loin. Shows strength in hindquarters which he used well on the move, straight and true.
2 Boorman & Brown, Kahawei Star Catcher repeat.
3 Lockwood, Roughyeds Regal Drive.

1 Barber & Barber, Tonispada Vuori Vincent by Blanshard. Balanced dog of 15 months with good wedge shape to head and dark eye. Strong muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Good in front with correct fore hand assembly. Bone is strong, straight legs into tight feet. Balanced in outline, firm body, he came into his own on the move and showed a true and relaxed ground covering action.

1 Valentine & Valentine, Ravenho Tallow Tango At Pattonia. This 20-month male is balanced all through. Good head shape, large dark eye, strong neck into correct shoulder placement. Chest is deep, ribs well sprung into muscular loin and hindquarters. In good coat. He needs to move with better steering and more speed to complete the presentation.
2 Sutton & Whitehead & Whitehead Foxriever Grey Ghost. Balanced young male with a well-shaped head and good expression. Strong neck, clean front, shoulders ok, good bone and feet but less infill to front than 1. Body developing well, moved ok.
3 Emery, Foxriever Midsummer Magic.

1 Stubbs, Brightmeadow Take Your Time at Densdale. Lovely black male with so much to like. Balanced all through and presented in good coat. Well-shaped masculine head and lovely expression with large dark eyes. Strong neck into well laid shoulders, fore legs well boned and straight. Stands on tight well-padded feet. Has plenty of infill to front and deep strong chest. Ribs well sprung, carried well back with minimal tuck up. Hind quarters are strong and muscular. He moved on a good stride, true up and back and shows a lovely profile. Well-deserved RCC.
2 Clack, Bazzy Inti Anka At Molokain (Cze Imp) Pleasing liver dog, body is balanced and presented in good coat. Neck is strong, good forehand assembly, nice legs and feet. Chest is deep with good ribbing. Moved well. Would prefer a touch more length to head.
3 Tarelli, Firecurl Some Like It Hot At Tarockwood (ai).
OD (6) Strong class.
1 Parker-Miles, Tengore Mr Moonlight. Upstanding strong mature black male in lovely coat and condition. Handsome masculine head of good shape, strong jaws, dark eyes show a gentle expression. Neck is clean and muscular, shows a slight arch and flows into well laid shoulders and lovely forehand assembly. Plenty of infill to front with a deep chest and well sprung ribs extending back into strong loin and muscular hindquarters. This well-balanced dog moved with a powerful gait from low set hocks showing lovely reach and drive in profile and accuracy up and back. Delighted to award him the CC in strong competition.
2 Boorman, Sh Ch Tessmene Talk of the Town. Strong and powerful liver male showing great balance and type. Liked his head shape and calm expression. Strong neck, powerful well laid shoulders, plenty of fore chest and depth. Firm loin and well-muscled quarters. Tidy feet, good strong bone and moderately angulated stifles. Another who moved well showing a good action.
3 Tarelli, Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda At Tarockwood (Imp Pol).

1 Mistlin, Maycourt Starman by Crookwood ShCM. At 10 years this chap looks wonderful. He has a classic head piece and hardly a grey hair on him. Neck is strong, body balanced and muscular. Still in good coat and colour he stands on legs and feet of a dog half his age! Moved with precision still showing the power this breed is capable of. Delighted to have the opportunity to judge him. Best Veteran.
2 Sutton, Kelsmere Kaddington. This 7-year black dog shows balanced proportions and is strong all through. Pleasing head powerful neck and shoulder, shows a deep chest and is well ribbed through the body, strong bone, straight fore legs and tidy feet. Rather close behind both standing and moving.
SBD (2)
1 Emery, Foxriever Midsummer Magic. Placed 3rd in PG where at 20months he is giving away lots in maturity. Shown in good coat he stands straight in front with nice bone and round feet. On the stack tends to tuck his tail end under which makes him steep in croup. Moved ok, needs more confidence.
2 Green, Ravenho Comradai Cymro. Finer in build right through. Narrower in head with dark eye and gentle expression. Neck clean, not as strong through the body as winner and could carry more weight to advantage. Good tight coat. Another who needs a little more confidence.
MPB (8) Strong class of quality pups.
1 Mercer & Thomas, Kahawei Catch The Stars Over Stormacre. I loved this young black bitch. Balanced and forward in maturity. She is a good size, type and conformation. Pleasing to go over from her feminine well shaped head with dark eye to her well set and carried tail. Shows a strong neck into well-made forehand, plenty of infill, strong bone and super feet. Brisket deep, good body, muscular loin, level back held on the move which was so positive and accurate. Held off a strong challenge from her brother to secure Best Puppy.
2 Clack & Eddery, Epsilon Adhara at Molokain. Liked this liver girl of 6 months. Pleasing in all departments with balance and type. Appealed in head and expression, neat feet, good bone, firm body and ribs well back, moved well. I would like a touch more of her all over and hope she develops on as she has begun.
3 Hemingway, Overbore Towering Inferno.

1 Courtier, Maycourt Take Me To The Top. This attractive bitch is beautifully feminine but combines the substance and strength required. Lovely head and expression, dark eyes, strong jaw. Neck is clean and muscular into well laid shoulders. Front shows a good infill and is straight with strong bone and tight well-padded feet. Body is deep and strong, well ribbed, firm and muscular through the loin into well-made hindquarters with low set hocks. She moves confidently, straight up and back and maintaining a level topline in profile with lovely reach and drive. At only 13 months she has some maturing to do but she is so promising and confident she could not be denied the Reserve CC in strong competition.
2 Driscoll, Overbore Bombette For HisRiver. This girl has a bigger frame to fill. Is pleasing in head and eye but does not have the length of neck or lay back of shoulder as the winner. She has lovely bone and feet, a good fore chest and plenty of depth. Strong through the body which is well ribbed up with good muscle to quarters. She moved true but not as positively as 1.
PGB (10,1)
1 Clack, Molokain Hocus Pocus Typical outline to this well-balanced bitch who is at the lower end of the standard but well-made all through. Pleasing head shape, muscular neck, well-made forehand, strong bone and tight feet. Body is deep with good ribbing and she holds a level topline. Hindquarters correctly angulated and well-muscled. Movement was positive with nice reach and drive.
2 Moskowitz, Ravenho Mochara Cadeaux. Pretty head on this well-made bitch. She has nice type and a good outline but not yet the substance or body of the winner. Holds a firm topline on the move which is true up and back but would benefit from a brisker pace to add sparkle as she is a little flat in her performance.
3 Gill & Peake, Ravenho Midnight Miracle at Saxonholme.

1 Bain & Bain, Crimblescurl Time to Tango at Wenichones JW. Not a flashy bitch but nice to go over. Balanced headpiece, strong neck into good lay of shoulder, well off for bone, feet round and well padded. Holds a good topline with correct underline and deep firm loin. Hindquarters are well angulated with low set hocks. She moved well, tight in front and driving from well-muscled thighs.
2 Hayes & Chattwood & Walton, Gorchest’s Pendlecurl’s Rising Star at Pepperiever. Attractive head and expression, correct neck into strong shoulders with good straight front, good bone and feet. More compact in body than 1 with sufficient angulation to strong quarters, still needs time to mature. Moved true.
3 Parker-Miles & Parker-Miles, Overbore’s Ace Of Hearts.

1 Stephens, Ravenho Up Town Girl for Brightmeadow JW. I love the outline and balance of this stylish young bitch. She has a classic head shape with dark eye and neat ears. Neck of correct length is well muscled and flows into a super shoulder placement. She has a good infill to fore chest with a deep brisket. Legs are well boned and straight finishing in well knuckled tight feet. Body is beautifully balanced, well ribbed into strong loin with slight tuck-up. Hindquarters are wide with ideal angulation, well-muscled and hocks well let down. At just 20 months she is still not fully mature but she was an easy winner standing and then she moved! Fluid, effortless and powerful with reach and drive. I had no hesitation in awarding her the Bitch CC. Although the dog has the advantage of maturity her outstanding movement clinched BOB. Well done.
2 Cummings, Molokain Enchanted One. This 5year old bitch has a balanced outline and is very well made with lots to like. Pleasing head and expression, muscular neck, deep strong body with strong topline and wide firm loin. Well off for bone, good feet, hocks low set. I was disappointed she was so reluctant to move and although true she lacked any animation.
3 Moskowitz, Blue Willow at Ravenho.

2 McKenzie, Ravenho Toulouse Latresco At Beddgelert. Balanced outline, of good make and shape with correct body properties. Shoulders strong, chest deep, nice straight front and stands on tidy feet. In good coat. Showed balanced movement.
3 Clinch, Roughyeds Regal Fairbanks.
