Judge’s Critique:

Size and hindquarters in many youngsters need watching in this breed.

MPD (6,1)
1 Finch’s Molokain Doing the Do at Cetgueli. 7 months with typical outline and balance of leg to depth. Head has good planes and tapers to strong jaw. Clean in outline balnced and not too big. He has strength behind and so had the drive that many lacked. Good coat with crisp curls.
2 Stephens’ Ravenho Looks Like Trouble for Brightmeadow. He is a touch rangy and really needs to strengthen in hindquarters. Clean well balanced head, firm clean neckline. Has depth of chest and ribs lead back to strong loin. Very well handled and good tightly curled coat.
3 Green’s Ravenho Comradai Cymro.

PD (2)
1 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic.
2 Millichamp & Miller’s Foxriever Solent Solstice At Wightcurls. Both a little unruly and therefore hard to assess. They are siblings and only 6 months, and maybe have not been in an inside ring before. So time is on their side.

JD (3)
1 Hodson’s Rowancurl Gentle Gaelor. Upstanding dog with breed type and outline. He has a decent head good, steady expression and masculinity without being overdone. Muscular neckline and well laid shoulder. Has depth and spring of rib to short filled loin. Width in rump and buttocks with firm hocks. Presents a good picture on the move. Must have a future.
2 Dooley’s Rowancurl Pullman Porter. Nice type of dog. liked him for size and overall proportions. Stands on good legs and feet. He does need to strengthen in quarters and hope he does, as he has promise.
3 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic.

PGD (3)
1 Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka At Molokain. He is very sound, masculine and not rangy, so he has to win this class. He perhaps could be cleaner in skull, but has the wedge shaped head with clean cheeks and good muzzle. He has quality bone and is well bodied with decent lay of shoulder. Firm back, well set tail and uses his quarters to drive off. Decent crisp curl.
2 Stubbs’ Brightmeadow Take Your Time at Densdale. This 2 year old has lots to offer but he really needs to strengthen and finish behind, standing and moving. Smart head good body and shapely outline. Positive front action.
3 Killick’s Overbore’s Double or Stick.

LD (8)
1 Boorman’s Tessmene Talk of the Town. I really liked this 2 year liver male. Just right for size. Grand balance of head, has arch to clean neckline. Well placed shoulders and depth with forechest. Correct ribbing short firm loin. Level topline to well placed tail. Muscular buttocks with short strong hocks. Presented in super coat. I really considered him highly. In the challenge he was just light on the near hind, which cost him higher honours. A shame, a quality dog.
2 Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker. Very typical and pleasing to go over. He is well made and strong clean in outline. He stands on well boned legs and round padded feet. Went well, just not quite the balance of the winner in the class, but a very useful dog with lots to offer.
3 Davies & Bradstock’s Maycourt Kashmir Con Redanimo.

OD (6,1)
1 Johnstone & Stokes’ Sh Ch Talismanic Bag of Tricks. Smart, stylist on the go round and presents a quality picture of the breed. Has strength, clean balanced outline. Impressive head elegance with masculinity. Nothing cumbersome. Excellent condition and coat. His clever handler makes so much of him, at all times that he well deserved the CC.
2 Solomon & Solomon’s Foxriever Mystic Marvel At Elkysar. Up to size but he is typical in shape and solid in body with elegance and power. Again handled to advantage and won his place and RCC with ease today. Very sound, fit and in decent coat.
3 Tarelli’s Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda At Tarockwood (Imp Pol)

VD (1)
1 Mistlin’s Maycourt Starman by Crookwood Sh.CM. 9 years. Fit with excellent shape and construction, (which I have come to expect from this affix) Stands on quality legs and tight, well padded feet. A really sound, honest dog, handled well. BVIB.

SBD (2)
1 Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka At Molokain. 1st. in PG. BSBIB.
2 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic. Repeat.

MPB (6)
1 Clack’s Molokain Hocus Pocus. What a cracker. Absolutely sound in all departments with strength throughout and retaining femininity. Lovely head, with balanced planes and strong tapeing jaw, giving type. She presents quality of bone round tight feet and firm filled body. All topped with a thick crisp curled coat. Stylish ground cover with reach and drive, from her sound, strong hindquarters.
2 Stephens’ Ravenho Up Town Girl for Brightmeadow. Expertly handled and presents a very typical outline of the breed. She has many attributes, not the quarters and therefore drive behind as the winner. Hope she strengthens as a lovely sort.
3 Mckenzie’s Ravenho Toulouse Latresco At Beddgelert.

PB (6)
1 Clack’s Molokain Hocus Pocus. Repeat.
2 Whitehead & Whitehead’s Stormacre Family Portrait for Foxriever. Very well presented, upstanding bitch. Lovely type, in first class body and coat. She has a great personality and goes round with good deportment. Not the strength and power in quarters of the winner.
3 Moskowitz Ravenho Mochara Cadeaux.

JB (5)
1 Mercer & Thomas’ Stormacre Raise Your Glass. Expertly handled to present a very typical picture. She is typical in head, has elegance of clean, filled neck. Decent forehand and stands on good legs and round feet. Well balanced and in grand body with muscular hindquarters. Well turned out coat with tight crisp curls. BPIB.
2 Eden & Eden’s Echoes of Thunder from Tornado Beta with Ricanded. Honest with typical features. Pleasing to go over and should mature on well. Again she was sensibly handled and was in good order. A useful sort.
3 Evans’ Rowancurl Beachcomber.

PGB (8,3)
1 Hayes & Chattwood & Walton’s Gorchest’s Pendlecurl’s Rising Star at Pepperiever. These could change places on another day. This one comes alive on the move, with carriage and style. She is feminine, with lovely wedge shaped head, well placed eye and width to jaw. She has balance and strength in forequarters and rear. Holds her lovely shape at all times. Fit and well covered.Very nice bitch.
2 Parker-Miles & Parker-Miles’ Overbore’s Ace Of Hearts. Strong fit and muscular. She has so much type and has balance of depth to leg. Handled to advantage .Very close up to winner.
3 Bain & Bain’s Crimblescurl Time to Tango JW

LB (7,3)
1 Carrick & Carrick’s Chimene Tessmene The Cats Whiskers. Well she fit the bill on first glance and so satisfying to lay hand on. Skeletally she is constructed to fulfil purpose with ease and is in good body and muscular development. Coupled with typical features and super thick curled coat, she moves displaying smooth ground cover and a certain elegance. CC & BOB.
2 Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven JW. Touch larger frame, but not offensive, she is very sound with elegance and a proper Curly Coat throughout. Good head with super expression and balanced planes. Stand on good legs and feet. Has depth and brisket with long ribs to firm loin. Moves soundly which is expected from her strength and soundness.
3 Spraggins & Spraggins’ Tusepo Amazing Love.

OB (4) Two very pleasing bitches, notice they both have their titles, easy to see why.
1 Spraggins & Spraggins’ Sh Ch Maycourt Hot Love at Tusepo. A sound typical Curly. She is made right, and presented in first class condition. Strength behind, which some lacked, throughout the entry! She has poise and good footfall on the move. Grand coat. Res CC.
2 James’ Sh Ch Kahawei Teal JW. This one was close up to winner and a very smart, strong bitch with elegance. She is strongly made with femininity. Super condition and coat of quality. Did nothing wrong on the move, but winner just had a touch more drive.

SBB (1)
1 Buchanan’s Curlies On Wings Crossroad Glory. Apparently, this handler told me after judging, that she only came to her a short while ago. She needs to fill her frame, but is a pleasing shape. Therefore time’s on her side. In previous classes she was a little unsettled, but in the class she had relaxed and worked much better with her handler.
