Also many thanks to my two Stewards who did an excellent job

 1st Mrs & Miss C Killick’s Overbore’s Double or Stick

10 Month old black dog very much at that leggy stage but is a good size with lovely bone.
Well shaped head with dark eye of the correct shape. Good length of neck into moderate shoulders and upper arm. Had a nice arch to his foot but would benefit from shorter nails  Good depth to chest with a moderate tuck up. Well bent stifle and thigh. He could be stronger behind and hopefully this will improve with age and exercise. At the moment he is losing his topline on the stack and move. He played his handler up a little but when settled he showed a nice long easy stride in profile. His coat was of a crisp texture and curl. Best Puppy Dog.

1st Miss A Clayton’s Lizallwood Mr Bojangles

14 Month old Liver dog who presents a very balanced outline with flowing lines and no exaggerations. His head is not overdone and of a good shape. I would like a slightly more oval shaped eye and darker pigmentation around the eye as it does slightly distract  from his expression. Strong neck into well laid back shoulders with correct upperarm. Good forecast and well sprung ribs. Level topline with correct tailset which he holds on the move. Lovely hindquarters with a well bent stifle and thigh. Good well arched feet and lovely bone. His coat is of a good colour with great curl and texture. Moved out with purpose and drive just a little untidy in front but should tighten up with age.

2nd Mrs M Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker

15 Month old Black dog who is well up for size and needs to mature in body to complete the picture. Lovely shaped head with a dark eye giving him a lovely soft expression. Good length of neck into moderate shoulders. Well off for bone with nice feet. Moderate stifle with good width of thigh. At times he lost his topline and was quite steep in the croup so his owner needs to watch this. He moved out steadily and covered the ground . His coat was of good curl and texture. He just needs time to body up and tighten all through and then I am sure his time will come.

1st Mr R M & Mrs W Tarelli’s Firecurl Some Like It Hot At Tarockwood (ai)

Upstanding Liver male but still with that degree of elegance I look for. Lovely head and expression with the correct eye colour. Well arched neck leading into well laid shoulders, deep chest and well sprung ribs. Strong well muscled rear quarters with well bent stifles. Good topline and tail set . Excellent coat of good colour and tight curls. Moved well but I would just like a little more drive and purpose.

1st Mrs H Barber’s Foxriever Picture Perfect for Blanshard

3 Year old Liver male of real quality and presenting a very balanced outline of flowing curves. For me he really stood out today for his balance and accurate movement. Masculine head with good eye colour and shape. Long neck into well angulated shoulders and upper arm. Nice forechest and good depth of chest. Best of toplines and tail set which he held on the move. Well bent stifles with well let down hocks. He was in good hard condition which showed on the move as he covered the ground with ease. His foot fall was accurate front and rear. Lovely dark liver coat with the correct texture and curl. I was really pleased to award him the CC and BOB. He is handled so sympathetically by his young handler and they were later rewarded by being shortlisted in the Group, Congratulations.

2nd Mrs S Parker-Miles Tengore Mr Moonlight

Younger Black dog of quality but not quite the angulation of the winner but  he is so well balanced which then showed on the move where he had good extension on a long stride.

Masculine head with a dark eye and gentle expression. Good length of neck with a level topline and correct tailset. Had a jacket of crisp curls of the correct texture. Good quality bone and feet. Handled to advantage and was pleased to award him the RCC.

1st  Misses C & L A Mercer & Thomas Sh Ch Elkysar Black Arrow Over Stormacre

Mature black dog of quality,  masculine head with a good dark eye, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Good topline with correct tail set. He is slightly long in the stifle and was then slightly weak behind on the stack today. Has lovely quality bone and good feet. His coat was of great curl and texture. Unfortunately today he was carrying far too much weight which impacted on his movement  in profile, front and rear, disappointing.

Veteran Dog 1 entry

1st Mrs S D Mistlin Maycourt Starman By Crookwood SHCM

8 year old liver male who is in fit hard condition and a credit to his owner.
Nicely balanced with good angulation front and rear.Well shaped head but would like a slightly darker eye and rim. Well arched neck, good bone with straight legs and tight feet. His topline has a slight rise over the loin which spoils his topline on the move but on the move he was very accurate coming and going. Unfortunately his coat was quite sparse in places today. Best Veteran Dog

1st  Mr L & M Bain Crimblescurl Time to Tango

Very elegant black bitch of nearly 12 months old. She presented a balanced outline with flowing lines. Strong topline with correct tailset. Has a lovely wedge shaped head with a dark eye. Long neck flowing into well laid shoulders with good upperarm and straight front. Nice bend of stifle and good width of thigh. She has nice feet but nails could be shorter.
Lovely coat of tight curls. On the move she played up a little but when settled moved soundly and true. Best puppy bitch and Best Puppy

2nd  Miss V Hayes, Miss C Chattwoods & Mrs L Walton’s Gorchest’s Pendlecurl’s Rising Star at Pepperiver.

Smaller framed black bitch of 10 months with a very feminine head and a kind eye.
Well balanced outline with good front and rear angulation. Good topline. Has a great attitude and very full of it giving her owner/handler a hard time but when settled moved well. Her coat was a little sparse in places today and  not as good as the winner.  Personally I would like her to have a shade more bone all over to complete the picture.

3rd Mrs J M & Mr K Rule’s Overbore’s Ace of Hearts

Junior Bitch 3 entries (0 absent)

1st  Miss D Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven

15 month old liver bitch who I really liked as she has so much quality she fills the eye.
Nice head with eye of correct colour, lovely long neck into the best of shoulders. Correct upperarm and forechest. Lovely bone with a straight front and tight feet. Flowing topline with correct tailset. Good width of thigh with well bent stifles and well let down hocks.
Nice dark liver coat of good curl and texture. She is so sound on the move with excellent foot fall. One to watch for the future as with maturity will gain top honours.

In the next class it was her sound accurate movement that won it for her.

2nd Mr  & Mrs J Stephens’ Brightmeadow Take One Look

15 month old black bitch who is so well constructed and sound on the move, Very close up to the winner and it was only that I would like a shade more bone that separated them.
Prettiest head of a good shape, good length of neck into a strong level topline held on the move. Moderate angulation front and rear that gave her great balance on the move which meant she covers the ground  with ease. Lovely tight feet. Excellent coat of tight curls.

3rd Mr L & M Bain Crimblescurl Time to Tango

Post Graduate  9 entries (2 absent)

A lovely class full of quality bitches , I was splitting hairs for the placings

1st  Miss D Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven

Junior winner and the youngest in this class but her sound movement won her the class.

2nd Mr N & Mrs S Spraggins’ Tusepo Amazing Love

2 year old liver bitch of  lovely quality, nice feminine head with a good eye. Long neck into the best of shoulders with correct upperarm and forechest. Strong rear end with well bent stifles and width of thigh. Strong topline held on the move where she showed herself well. On the stack she just lacked a little confidence, her owner/ handler really needs to work on presenting her better so she can go on to higher honours as she deserves them.

3rd Ms A Wynn-Jones Crimblescurl Cherry

Limit Bitch  8  entries (4 absent)

1st Mrs S Margerison & Mr S Davies Infallibles Black Velvet at Kandrelli

2 year old black of good quality and size, very feminine head with a soft dark eye, ears could be smaller. Strong neck leading into a level topline, pronounced forechest with good depth of chest. Slight tuck up. Well muscled rear with a good bend of stifle and width of thigh. Lovely straight bone with ok feet. Wonderful thick curly coat of great texture. On the move I would have liked a little move drive and a lower tailset as it spoilt her topline. Superbly handled and presented that won her the class.

2nd Mrs A L Moskowitz Blue Willow at Ravenho

Mature black bitch who I have always liked as she is so well constructed, sound and honest.
Lovely head with a good eye, strong neck and well angulated shoulders, straight front with quality bone. Lovely flowing lines which gives a very balanced outline. Good bend of stifle and hocks, nice feet. Good coat of nice curl and texture. On the move she messed around too much and didn’t show  how she can move, her handler really needs to get her settled as this and poor stacking lost her the class.

3rd Mr A & Mrs J Findlow’s Roughyeds Audrey Roberts

Open Bitch – 7 entries (1 absent)

1st Miss T James Sh Ch Kahawei Teal JW

Worthy Show Champion who has great ring presence and catches the eye.
She presents a well balance outline standing and on the move. She is handled and presented expertly.
Beautiful feminine head with a lovely dark eye. Long neck, well angulated shoulders ,with a good depth of chest. Well sprung ribs with a slight tuck up. Strong level topline with a good tail set which was held correctly on the move. Good width of thigh with well bent stifles. Her coat was a mass of tight curls. I was very pleased to award her the CC, in the challenge for BOB she flagged slightly and her footfall wasn’t as precise as the dog.

2nd Mr N & Mrs S Spraggins’ Maycourt Hot Love at Tusepo

5 year old Liver quality bitch, she is so sound and typical of the breed. Well shaped head although not as feminine as the winner but with a nice eye. Good length of neck into well laid back shoulders. Deep chest with well sprung ribs and a moderate tuck up. Nice width of thigh with a well bent stifle and  good muscle  tone. Lovely dark liver coat of excellent curl. On the move she was steady and true not quite the style of the winner but pushed her all the way. At times she just doesn’t make the best of  herself on the stack but a very nice bitch .

3rd Mr  & Mrs J Stephens’ Brightmeadow Who’s That Girl

Veteran Bitch 2 entries (1 absent)

1st Mr  & Mrs J Stephens’ Sh Ch Brightmeadow Just One Look Sh CM

8 year old black bitch who I last judged as a junior and she has certainly fulfilled that early promise. I thought she looked amazing today, Her lines are so clean and everything just flows. On the move she is effortless and still retains her balance and style.
Lovely feminine head with a well shaped eye, strong neck into good shoulders, good bone and straight front. Great depth of chest with super sprung ribs. Level topline with a slight slope to the croup, tail carried well off her back. Her condition was great for her age lovely coat of tight curls with the correct texture. In the challenge she just lost out to a younger bitch but I had no hesitation in awarding her the RCC.
