Judge’s Critique:

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me judge at this show it has been quite a number of years since I judged this wonderful breed so I was really looking forward to my day in the ring. The hospitality on the day was excellent, a big thank you to my stewards who politely organised the ring, exhibitors and myself, and last but not least thank you to all the exhibitors for their entry and sportsmanship with my decisions the atmosphere in and out of the ring was second to none.

1 Stephens Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW Sh,CM Now 8 years old and still an excellent example of the breed he is well balanced dog with enough bone, lovely head with dark eye giving a soft expression, good shoulder placement and reach of neck, he excels in movement with good tail carriage to be critical his coat texture was not at its best. Res CC very pleased to see him go on to win the Veteran Group

1 Stephens Brightmeadow Rumour Has It A lovely 10 months old youngster with good body and bone, he covers the ground with drive, tight feet, super coat, well balanced, his head needs to mature today his eyes were a little loose but eye colour and expression were good should have a bright future Best Puppy
2 Margerison Kandrelli Black Scoter 11 months old puppy first time in the ring and he took it all in his stride, his head is slightly narrow but this may change as he matures, good bone and body, excellent coat for his age moved well when settled, proud of his tail today but as he grows in confidence that could change.

1 Clayton Firecurl Maxim Close decision between these two youngsters, 14 months old and first time in the ring again his temperment was excellent, preferred this boys head, well balanced with good bone and coat, needs to settle on the move
2 Dick Firecurl Excalibur His head was quite broad in back skull and would have preferred a darker eye, a lighter framed dog shown in good coat just needs to mature

1 Valentine & Valentine Ravenho Tallow Tango At Pattionia Well balanced dog with good bone, lovely head and expression, tight feet and enough bend of stifle, carrying a little too much weight today which spoilt his outline, he moves well with good tail carriage when he finally settles gives his handler a hard time won this class on overall type
2 Tarelli Firecurl Some Like It Hot At Tarockwood (ai) Larger framed dog still balanced, head wise he is quite broad in back skull but good eye colour, not in his best coat today and would benefit from a bit more weight, moved steady keeping his level top line

1 Brookes Infallibles Black Crusader At Kelsmere (imp Nor) This dog has improved so much and today didn’t put a foot wrong, shown in super condition, well balanced with plenty of bone, lovely head with melting expression, good reach of neck and shoulder placement, enough bend of stifle, moved out well steady but true and in sync with his handler keeping his level topline and great tail action. Please to award him the CC his third and BOB a credit to his owner
2 Clack Bazzy Inti Anka At Molokain (Cze Imp) A smaller framed dog well balanced with enough bone, his head was a little broad in back skull nice shaped eye with good colour, tight feet and enough bend of stifle, coat of excellent colour and texture, moved well when settled
3 Tarelli Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda At Tarockwood (Imp Pol)

1 Buchanan Fleetpaw First Lady Eight year old liver bitch, feminine head with good eye colour, not in her best coat today moved well when settled enjoying her day out

1 Stephens Brightmeadow Come On Eileen Much improved puppy, moves like a dream when she settles, balanced feminine head good eye colour and shape, excellent coat, stood alone but worthy winner hope she grows on

1 Clayton Firecurl Ace 13 months liver youngster, good size would prefer more bone, nice feminine head eye colouring good, she tends to straighten her stifle when standing, moves ok when settled, her coat was not at its best today just lacking in maturity.

1 Clayton Firecurl Georgie Porgie Five year old mature liver, feminine head with good eye colouring, would have a liked a little more bone but she is balanced, showed in good condition and moved well
2 Buchanan Curlies On Wings Crossroad Glory A younger bitch lacking in maturity at the moment, finer head and would prefer a darker eye she tends to stand straight on stifle, movement not as good as the winner

1 Carrick & Carrick Tessmene Tickety Boo This bitch caught my eye and did not disappoint, she has the loveliest of head, dark eye with melting expression, tight feet and good front assembly, good reach of neck and enough stifle, free mover covering the ground with drive with a good tail action, just not quite in a full jacket today which cost her the top honour.
2 Hayes & Chattwood Gorchest’s Pendlecurl’s Rising Star At Pepperiever Another lovely bitch, lighter framed than my winner, feminine head with good eye shape and colour, balanced throughout, shown in good coat and condition can be a little over exuberant on the move but when settled movement is good
3 Bain & Bain & Bain Crimblescurl Time To Tango At Wenichones JW

1 Stephens Sh Ch Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow Jw A lovely young quality bitch, has a nicely balanced feminine head with good eye shape and colour giving a soft expression, good reach of neck going in to well placed shoulders, enough bend of stifle, good coat shown in super condition, there is nothing over done with this youngster, she moves with drive keeping her level topline and lovely tail carriage her movement won her this class please to award her the Bitch CC
2 Spraggins & Spraggins Tusepo Amazing Love Another quality bitch, feminine head with good eye colouring, enough bone, good front assembly and tight feet, level topline, enough bend of stifle moved well when settled unfortunately not in her best coat today
