Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dog (6)

1ST        Tessmene Red Rum by Kagemusha (Mr R & Ms G Richards & Flaher).  Although by far the youngest in the class he had the best overall balance and movement.  Well shaped head with soft expression.  Clean neck of good length leading to good lay of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm.  Good depth of chest and spring of rib.  Scores in hindquarters with good with of second thigh and well placed hocks.  Good bone and feet. Moved out well.

2ND       Firecurl Maxim (Mrs J Clayton).  Good overall balance.  Wedge shaped head with small well set ears.  Clean neck leading to well laid shoulder.  Good depth of chest and spring of rib.  Just preferred hindquarters of winner.  In excellent coat and condition.  Moved soundly.

Well balanced and correct for age.  Correct head shape with well set ears.  Good length of neck.  Would like a little more angulation in the forequarters.  Good depth of chest and spring of rib.  Well made hindquarters with nicely turned stifles.  Excellent bone and feet.  Good coat and condition.  Best mover in the class.

2ND       Foxriever Fire Cracker (ai) (Mr D & Mrs S & Mr Am & Mrs Dj Pavitt & Pavitt & Whitehead & Whitehead).  Litter brother to winner and very similar as to be expected. Good overall balance.  Lovely head and expression.  Clean neck.  Good depth of chest. Well ribbed back.  Strong hindquarters with good bone and feet.  Not quite the drive moving as the winner.

1ST        Tonispada Vuori Vincent by Blanshard Sgwc (Mrs H.s.m & Miss B.e. & Miss H.a. Barber).  I liked the overall make and shape of this dog.  He is well balanced and holds a good outline.  Scores in head which is wedge shaped with a soft expression and well placed ears. Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest and spring of ribs.  Well made hindquarters – to be picky I would like a tad more second thigh.  Good bone and the best of feet.  Well muscled and in excellent coat and condition.  Moved out well.

2ND       Violeta Borboleta Jacques Du Moulin Du Paulu (Imp Fra) (Miss A Clayton).  Well balanced all through.  Good head shape with small well set ears.  Strong neck leading to well laid shoulder.  I would like a little more angulation in the upper arm.  Good depth of chest and length of ribcage.  Strong, well  muscled hindquarters with good width of second thigh.  In excellent coat and condition.  Moved well.

1ST        Brightmeadow Rumour Has It JW (Mr J & Mrs M B Stephens).  Top quality male who was in contention for higher honours.  Good overall balance.  Head of wedge shape with soft expression and small high set ears. Strong, slightly arched neck. Well laid shoulder and corresponding length and return of upper arm.  Excellent depth of chest with well sprung ribcage.  Scores in hindquarters with nicely bent stifles and well defined second thigh.  The best of bone and feet. In super coat and condition.  Moved out well – accurate fore and aft and showing good length of stride when viewed in profile.

2ND       Kahawei Star Catcher (Miss G & Mr A Boorman & Brown).  Another quality exhibit who is well balanced all through.  Nicely shaped head with soft expression.  Strong neck leading to correct forehand construction.  Deep in chest with good spring of rib.  Well made hindquarters with correct bend of stifle.  Good bone.  Feet would benefit from nails being clipped shorter!  Moved on a good stride – not quite accuracy of winner.

1ST        Sh Ch Tengore Mr Moonlight (Mrs S Parker-Miles).  I liked this dog a lot.  Going through my records I see I gave him a class as a youngster 4 years ago.  He has now developed into the full picture.  Well balanced presenting a good outline when stacked.  Excellent head and expression.  Strong, slightly arched neck leading to well laid shoulder and equal length of upper arm. Good depth of chest and spring of rib.  Strong hindquarters, quality bone and the best of feet.  In excellent coat and condition.  Moved out well with good rear drive.  A good class to win and was ultimately awarded the RCC.

2ND       Sh Ch Brightmeadow Take Your Time at Densdale (Miss J Stubbs).  Another worthy title holder who pushed the winner all the way.  Excellent head with soft expression and well set ears.  Strong neck.  Scores in his forequarters.  Chest of good depth with good spring of rib.  Well turned stifles with good definition of second thigh.  I would like a tad more bone all through.  In super coat and condition.  Moved out well.

1ST        Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW ShCM (Mr J & Mrs M B Stephens).  What can I say that I haven’t said before?  I gave him one of his very early CCs and at a later date he won the Group at Birmingham National under me.  I was delighted to have one last chance to judge him as he is without a shadow of doubt the best Curly Coat I have ever judged.  He commands the ring. Totally balanced – he can’t stand wrong.  His head is copybook – a perfect wedge with smooth cheeks and the softest expression.  Strong neck leading into well laid back shoulders and corresponding length and return of upper arm.  Chest of good depth with well sprung ribcage.  Strong, well muscled hindquarters with good width of second thigh.  Quality bone and the best of feet.  His coat is of correct texture.  His movement was a joy.  Accurate fore and aft and showing tremendous drive when viewed in profile.  He still after all this time is the outstanding male in the breed – probably the best since the great Rifleman.  It was a tremendous honour to be able to judge him again and I had no hesitation in awarding him the CC and ultimately BOB. I congratulate his breeder/owners for keeping him looking so wonderful.  He has now been retired and I am sure he will enjoy ruling the roost at home.  For me – he will always reign surpreme.

2ND       Sh Ch Foxriever Picture Perfect for Blanshard (Mrs H.s.m & Miss B.e. & Miss H.a. Barber).  Another worthy title holder who is well made all through.  Nicely shaped head with well set ears. Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders.  Deep in chest with good spring of rib.  Strong hindquarters – a tad long from hip to hock.  Good width of second thigh.  Excellent bone with good feet.  Coat well textured.  Moved out soundly.

Strong neck leading to excellent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm.  Good depth of chest with well sprung ribcage.  Strong hindquarters with good width of second thigh.  In super coat and condition.  Moved out well.

2ND       Firecurl Ace (Mrs J Clayton).  Well balanced all through. Good head shape with well set ears.  Clean neck into good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm.  Good depth of chest and well ribbed back.  Little straight in stifle and I would like a fraction more bone. Moved soundly.

1ST        Tusepo Miss Scarlett (Mr N & Mrs S D Spraggins).  Super puppy who I liked very much indeed.  Well balanced all through. Everything in the right place for her age.  Excellent head shape with soft expression.  Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm.  Deep chest and well sprung ribcage.  Scores in her hindquarters with good width of second thigh and strong hocks.  Excellent bone and feet.  Correct coat texture. Moved out well.  Best Puppy in Breed.

2ND       Tessmene Chantilly Lace (Mr E H Gadd).  Another quality puppy.  Wedge shaped head with lovely expression.  Clean neck.  Shoulder is well laid but I would like more length of upper arm.  Good depth of chest and well ribbed back.  Strong hindquarters.  Excellent bone and feet.  Moved soundly – just not the length of stride as the winner.

Junior Bitch (2)

1ST        Maycourt Island Girl for Breichside (Mrs J Cummings).  Very impressive young bitch.  Well balanced all through presenting a very good outline.  Correct head shape with slight stop and smooth cheeks.  Strong clean neck. Scores in her forehand construction.  Deep in chest with well sprung ribcage.  Strong hindquarters with nicely bent stifles.  In excellent coat and condition. Moved out well on a good stride showing correct forward reach. 

2ND       Crimwell Trouble Maker at Stormacre (Misses C & L A Mercer & Thomas).  Another very promising youngster.  Good overall balance.  Wedge shaped head with soft expression.  Well laid shoulder and length of upper arm.  Deep chest and well ribbed back.  Well made hindquarters.  Good bone and feet.  Correct coat texture.  Moved well – not quite drive of winner but could change places another day.

1ST        Brightmeadow Never Can Say for Glenbrows (Mr T D & Mrs H L Harrison).  I was very impressed with this young bitch and she made her presence felt in the challenge.  Well balanced all through and very elegant without being flashy in any way.  Beautiful head with soft expression, small well set ears.  Slightly arched neck leading to well laidback shoulder and corresponding length of upper arm.  Correct depth of chest and well ribbed back.  Scores in hindquarters with nicely turned stifles and good definition of second thigh.  Quality bone and the best of feet. Presented in tip  top condition and handled to advantage.  Moved out well.  She just needs another year to come to her best.

2ND       Epsilon Adhara at Molokain JW (Mrs E D & Mr E & Mr S T Clack & Eddery & Clack).  Another top quality bitch who will be a force to reckon with in the future.  Excellent overall balance and presents a good outline when standing.  Super head shape with soft expression and smooth cheeks.  Strong neck leading to well laid shoulders and equal length of upper arm.  Deep in chest with well sprung rib cage.  Strong, well made hindquarters.  Excellent bone and feet.  Coat of excellent quality.  Moved well – just not quite as clean coming towards as winner but a super bitch whose handler got the very best out of her.

1ST        Nor/dk/se Sh Ch Skaringen’s First Impression (Mr J S Thygesen).  I have not seen this bitch before but she took my eye as soon as she came into the ring.  She is extremely impressive – not flashy but very eye catching.  She commands attention.  Head wedge shaped with soft expression.  Good length of neck leading to well laid back shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm.  Good depth of chest and length of ribcage showing slight tuck up before leading to strong, well muscled hindquarters with well placed hocks.  Excellent bone and the very best of feet.  Coat in tip top condition.  Moved on a very sound long stride covering the ground well and at one with her handler.  Worthy winner of the BCC.

2ND       Sh Ch Ravenho Up Town Girl for Brightmeadow JW (Mr J & Mrs M B Stephens).  I really was spoilt for choice in this class with good bitches having to leave without being placed.  This bitch is also straight out of the very top draw.  Well balanced all through and presenting a true outline when stacked.  Beautiful head and expression.  Strong, slightly arched neck leading to well laid shoulder and equal length of upper arm. Deep in chest with well sprung ribcage. Scores in hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet.  Her coat was sadly just past its absolute best but it made my decision easier!  Moved out well on a good stride.  A very worthy winner of the RCC

3RD       Sh Ch Molokain Hocus Pocus (Mrs E D & Mr E & Mr S T Clack & Eddery & Clack).  Completed a trio of three first rate bitches.

Veteran Bitch (5, 1)

1ST        Sh Ch Maycourt Hot Love at Tusepo (Mr N & Mrs S D Spraggins).  A lovely bitch who can still hold her own in good company.  Well balanced and presents a very good outline.  Excellent head of wedge shape and small well set ears.  Strong neck leading to correct forehand construction.  Good through ribcage with slight tuck up in flank.  Scores in hindquarters with nicely bent stifles and well placed hocks.  The best of bone and feet.  In excellent coat and condition.  Moved well on a good stride.

2ND       Firecurl Pop Goes The Weasel at Beddgelert (Mrs J L Mckenzie).  Well balanced all through.  Very workmanlike.  Good head shape with well set ears.  Strong neck leading to well laid shoulder.  Good depth of chest and spring of rib.  Nicely made hindquarters.  I would like a fraction more bone all through.  Coat of good texture.  Moved soundly
