Thank you for your entries and acceptance of my decisions.
I found all of my first & second placements had excellent coats with correct curls. Some of the classes had hard decisions in the splitting of the awards.
I was looking for a correctly constructed curly with good movement. I was also looking for that outline which defines a curly rather than any other retriever. In the final challenge, it was the bitches’ heads that I preferred.

Black, with good steady movement, he was a little loose in the hock, very nice wedge shaped head, correct eye colour, neat ears, good length of neck into well laid back shoulders, straight front legs, good depth of chest, correct length of loin, well angled rear, good feet, carried tail correctly – BViS

Liver, moved well, just a little loose but with drive, maturity should tighten that up. Good wedge shaped head, correct eye shape and colour. Correct ear set, good length of neck. Front on he was a little narrow in the chest, maturity should sort that. Well angled front and rear. Good depth of chest, correct length of loin, tail carried correctly. BPD & RBPiS

Black, Moved a little looser than 1st, again maturity needs to play it’s part. Good wedge shaped head, good eye colour, neat ears, good length of neck, he is slightly straighter in shoulder than 1st. Good depth of chest, good length of loin, well angled rear. Tail carried correctly.

Black, moved well, was slightly longer in muzzle to skull ratio, good eye colour, neat ears, good length of neck, correct shoulder angulation, good depth of chest, would prefer a slightly longer loin, well angled rear, with good feet. Carried tail correctly
2nd Brightmeadow Man of Steel
Liver, moved well but had slacker hocks than 1st, all round bigger framed than 1st, good head, correct eye colour, good length of neck, correct shoulder angulation, good depth of chest, he could have done with a tighter tuck up. Well angled rear, when stood  his rear toes facing outward. Carried tail correctly

Liver, on the move his first few paces were rather odd but then settled which cost him 1st place.
