Judge’s critique

I would like to thank the members voting for me and the officers and committee for putting on another great show for our club, I had a very enjoyable day.

I was spoilt for choice in most classes, and they could easily change places. The standard of coats and mouths was excellent. I was however slightly disappointed with the size of ear, they seem to be getting rather large.

Veteran Dog (2,1Abs)
1st Mistlin’s Maycourt Starman by Crookwood. 8 yr old liver, masculine head, with good eye colour. Good length of neck into well laid-back shoulders, deep chest, moderate turn of stifle, with hocks well let down and neat feet. Moved out well. BVIS.

Puppy Dog (1)
1st Killick’s Overbore’s Double Or Stick. 10 mth old black. Nicely shaped head, good length of neck, into shoulders, nice topline which was kept on move with correct tail carriage and overall developing well. BPIS.

Junior Dog (3)
1st Clayton’s Lizallwood Mr Bojangles – 15mth old liver. Lovely masculine head with eye colour that is in keeping with his coat colour, neat ears, good length of neck into laid back shoulders, deep chest with slight tuck up, level topline kept on move with correct tail set, nice moderate turn of stifle with good second thigh, moved with drive. BD & RBIS & BOS.
2nd Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker – 16 mth old black, masculine clean head with dark eye, ok length of neck into shoulder, deep chest and tuck up, moderate turn of stifle with shorter hock, nicely boned and neat feet. Not settled on moved, spoiling his outline.

1st Davies & Bradstock’s Maycourt Kashmir Con Redanimo 16 mth old black, lovely masculine head with good length of neck into laid back shoulders, deep chest with tuck up, good moderate stifle, well-muscled throughout. Moved with purpose. RBD.

Graduate Dog (2)
1st Davies & Bradstock’s Maycourt Kashmir Con Redanimo. 1st Novice Dog.
2nd Richards & Flaher’s Tessmene Top Notch by Kagemusha. 23 mth old, was not happy for me to go over. Larger masculine head with dark eyes, needs to tighten up throughtout but was not settled on move so was hard to fully evaluate.

Limit Dog (5, 1 abs)
1st Boorman’s Tessmene Talk To The Town. 22 mth old liver. Masculine head with good eye colour, nicely balanced throughout and not overdone, good topline, well off for bone with neat feet, moved out well.
2nd Bett’s Infallibles Black Crusader at Kelsmere. 2 yr old black. Heavier set than 1, with good length of neck, laid back shoulders, strong topline, good bone, not moving well today just looked sluggish and tired.
3rd Parker-Miles’ Tengore Mr Moonlight.

Open Dog (2)
1st Titley’s Fleetpaw Wondering Star. 4yr old black. Masculine head with dark eye, strong neck into shoulders, level topline, deep chest, well off for bone, correct tail set and carriage, moved ok.
2nd Stephens’ Myosotisis Glenfiddich at Brightmeadow (IMP NLD). 4yr old liver. Good eye colour, nice length of neck into shoulders, deep chest with tuck up, movement let him down.

Veteran Bitch (4, 1Abs)
1st Perkins’ SH CH Kelsmere Kass of Tengore. 7 1/2yr old black. Pleasing head with dark eye, good neck into shoulders, deep chest, good rear angulation, well-muscled throughout, moved well when owner could keep up. RBVIS.
2nd Stephens’ SH CH Brightmeadow Just One Look (SHCM). 8yr old black. Feminine head, with kind expression, good front, deep chest, level topline, moderate rear angulation, neat feet, with lovely extension on the move. Just preferred 1 on the day.
3rd Spraggins’ Pepperiever Love In A Mist at Tusepo

Minor Puppy Bitch (1)
1st Lacey’s Fleetpaw My Fair Lady. 6mths and 1 day black. Lovely baby, with bags of character. Feminine head, good shoulders, topline and angulation. Moved well when settled. BPB & BPIS

Puppy Bitch (2)
1st Gadd’s Fleetpaw Miss Saigon. 6mths and 1 day black, litter sister to puppy winner. Very similar just not as balanced throughout but I am sure they will change places in the future.
2nd Hayes & Biglin & Walton & Chattwood’s Gorchest’s Pendlecurls’s Rising Star at Pepperiever (IMP USA). 11 mth old black. Slightly smaller frame than 1. Pretty feminine head with dark eye, good front, chest developing with tuck up, good topline and rear angulation, moved well.

Junior Bitch (1)
1st Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven. Still developing into herself, good arched neck into shoulders, deep chest with tuck up, good bone with neat feet, level topline, good rear angulation and well-muscled throughout. RBB.

Yearling Bitch (1)
1st Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven. 1st in Junior.

Novice Bitch (1)
1st Moskowitz’s Brightmeadow Moondance. 2yr old liver. Feminine head with kind expression, good eye colour for coat, good shoulders, level topline with tail carried correctly, good bone and neat feet, coat trimmed very tight so not showing enough curl.

Graduate Bitch (3, 1Abs)
1st Moskowitz’s Brightmeadow Moondance. 1st in Novice.

Post Graduate Bitch (2,1Abs)
1st Spraggins’ Tusepo Amazing Love. 2yr old liver. Pleasing head, good eye colour for coat, good length of neck into shoulders, level topline with good tail set, good rear angulation and well-muscled throughout. Another trimmed tight so difficult to see full curl.

Limit Bitch (5,2Abs)
1st Findlow’s Roughyeds Audrey Roberts. 2yr old black, very feminine wedge-shaped head with dark eye and nice earset. Nice length of neck into laid back shoulders, deep chest with tuck up, level topline, moderate rear angulation, moved out well.
2nd Moskowitz’s Blue Willow at Ravenho. 3yr old black. Strong head of good proportions, good front with deep chest, good topline, rear angulations and moved ok.
3rd Perkins’ Tengore Ruby Tuesday.

Open Bitch (5, 2 Abs)
1st Spraggins’ Maycourt Hot Love At Tusepo. 5 1/2yr old liver. Lovely head equally proportioned, parallel planes and slight stop, with correct eye colour for coat, well set neat ears. Strong neck slightly arching into muscular shoulders, deep chest with tuck up, moderate stifle, good second thigh, moved with drive and power all with a touch of elegance. BB & BIS.
2nd Moskowitz’s Blue Willow at Ravenho. 2nd in Limit.
3rd Gill & Peake’s Kelsmere Kasscade At Saxonholme.
