Judge’s Critique:

Thank you for such a nice entry and many thanks to my stewards on the day. Shame we were so late in going into the ring. I have one overall observation in that since I last judged, heads are a cause for concern. They have either gone too Labrador like or flat coat. Many lacked that distinct wedge shape from all angles. And too much back skull. And in some cases eyes are set more like a flat coat.

MPD (4,1)
1st: May’s Foxriever Dragon Heart (a.i.). Preferred the overall balance and movement. Good wedge shaped head with correct eye and ear set and size. Straight forearm and well boned with tight round feet. Correct level topline and spring of rib and body proportions. Well made rear with good angulation, however did like his tail a little too much on the move. Good tight curl to the coat

2nd: Sutton & Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Fire Fly. Not quite the maturity and togetherness of 1st. Slight longer cast in the loin. Similar in head and expression. Well boned and straight forearm and correct pastern. Would have liked tighter feet, a little flat. Good depth of brisket and slight tuck up in loin. Moderate rear construction and not too bad on the move.

3rd: Pavitt & Pavitt & Whitehead’s Foxriever Fire Cracker (a.i.) (bb4)

PD (2)

1st: May’s Foxriever Dragon Heart (a.i.)

2nd: Sutton & Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Immortal Spirit. I preferred the head piece of this one, better balanced and a little more breath of back skull. Good neck and clean forehand with good bone a straight forearm. Good depth of brisket and well sprung rib. Correct topline. However needs to firm up on the backend, and lacked any drive on the move.

JD (1)

1st: Clack & Batlle-Hunter’s Krisbos Leonidas With Molokain (IKC). A well balanced dog with a good make and shape. Clean forehand with good bone and round feet. Pleasing head with correct wedge shape. Kind eye and correct set ear and correct size. Slight crest to the neck into good lay of shoulder. Good deep brisket and well sprung rib. Slight tuck up. Well made rear end, but lacked positive drive on the move and tended to plait in front movement.

PGD (2,1)

1st: Stephens’ Brightmeadow Rumour Has It JW. A masculine, balanced head with good eye and nice small ear correctly set. Straight forearm and a forechest with a well sprung rib, good bone and round tight feet. Like a little less weight over the shoulder. Well set tail and level carriage on the move. A moderate rear end, i’d like more width behind going away fom me.

LD (2)

1st: Sutton & Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Grey Ghost. I preferred the overall balance and substance to 2nd. Good wedge shaped head, however dentition could be better. Good straight forearm with correct bone and round feet. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Correct top line with correctly set tail and carriage on the move. Well made rear construction with good bend of stifle and well muscled. Good tight curl to coat. moved well enough.

2nd: Valentine & Valentine’s Ravenho Tallow Tango At Pattonia. Not a bad outline, however, a little loaded across the forehand. Good straight forearm well boned with good feet well arched, good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Little close behind moving away.

OD (8,1)

1st: Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker I preferred the overall make shape and balance of this dog. Fully mature looking at his best. Good clean neck and shoulders flowing through to a good level top line with correct tail set. Good forechest and depth of brisket wellspring rib. Clean forehand with good strong bone and round feet. Slight tuck up into loin. Well bodied and strong loin. Well-made rear construction. Covered the ground well on the move. – CC

2nd: Stubbs’ Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale – masculine head expression with correct wedge shape good eye and well set ear, correct size. Good clean front with good bone and tight feet. Good depth of brisket with some forechest. Would like a little more bend of stifle and moved a little close behind away from me. Good tight curl to coat. RCC.

3rd: Brookes’ Sh Ch Infallibles Black Crusader At Kelsmere

VD (1)

1st: Hawley-Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory TAF. Would like a little more of a wedge shape head too much back skull for my liking more like a Labrador. Small ear and well set. Crest to neck into clean forehand with straight forearm and well boned. Slight forechest and good depth of brisket. Well sprung rib and well back slight tuck up to loin. Not the strongest behind and this showed on the move as lacked positive drive. well set tail and correct carriage on the move.

SBB (1)

1st: Mckenzie’s Firecurl Pop Goes The Weasel At Beddgelert. A smaller bitch very feminine sweet expression good eye nice small ear. Well, boned and round feet little wide coming towards you in front. good neck and flow through to correct top line slight rise over the loin.

MPB (2)

1st: Cummings’ Maycourt Island Girl For Breichside. Sweet expression with correct wedge shaped head good eye and nice small ear well set. Straight forearm with good bone and round feet. Correct top line with correct tail set and held level on the move. moved away well enough. Nice tight curl for age.

2nd: Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Phoenix Rising. Unfortunately the handler was unable to get the best out of this bitch today. Pleasing head an expression. Flows through neck and shoulders. Top line needs to firm up. Good depth of brisket and slight tuck up in line. Good rear angles with well let down second thigh.

PB (3)

1st: Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Sea Fyre. Pleasing head and feminine expression kind eye, good ear set and small size. Slight forechest into straight forearm with good bone and round feet. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib, slight tuck up of loin into well-made rear, correct set tail. and preferred the overall balance of this bitch to 2nd.

2nd: Solomon & Solomon’s Foxriever Sacred Spirit at Elkysar. Although not in full coat still a nice make and shape. Good depth of brisket and well sprung rib. Balanced reconstruction. Feminine head and expression, kind eye and nice small ear. Well boned. Not quite the rear movement of first.

3rd: Cummings’ Maycourt Island Girl For Breichside

JB (1)

1st: Whitehead & Whitehead’s Foxriever Sea Fyre

PGB (11,3)

1st: Perkins’ Maycourt Miss Sweetness At Tengore. A well constructed feminine bitch. Correctly shaped head with a feminine expression and kind eye correct size ear and placement. Good neck and shoulder into straight foreleg, well boned with round feet. Slight forechest with good depth of brisket and spring of rib. A well-made rear end with good letdown to hock. Correctly set tail and level courage on the move. Moved well both ways.

2nd: Moskowitz’s Ravenho Mochara Cadeaux. A smaller bitch but still well balanced. Good depth of brisket with straight forearm and good bone and feet. A little stuffy in neck and would’ve like a little more bend of stifle however moved with some positive drive away from me.

3rd: Courtier’s Maycourt Cover Shot.

LB (4,1)

1st: Parker-Miles & Parker-Miles He Overbore’s Ace Of Hearts (ay1). I preferred the proportions of this bitch compared to 2nd. Slightly better top line and flow through neck and shoulders. Nice clean front construction with good bone and round feet. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib and slight tuck up into line well bodied and in good coat and condition. Well let down second thigh to Short hock. Would have liked a little better rear movement bit close.

2nd: Mercer & Thomas’s Kahawei Catch The Stars Over Stormacre. Another nice bitch, however tended to lose her topline across the Withers. Nice feminine wedge shaped head with kind eye, well set ear, and correct size. Straight forearm with good bone and well arched feet. Correct tail set and carriage on the move.

3rd: Courtier’s Maycourt Take Me To The Top

OB (7)

1st: Stephens’ Sh Ch Ravenho Up Town Girl For Brightmeadow JW. I preferred her type more quality throughout. Slightly lighter build compared to 3rd well boned with good round feet and straight forearm. good spring of rib and depth of brisket. Slight tuck up and strong loin. Well bodied in full coat and nice tight curl. Move well both ways with a good open gait in profile movement. Liked her balance and make shape.

2nd: Evans’ Kukkasen Keita By Caballus (imp Fin). Very similar in type to 1st however a little straighter behind. Good bone and feet and the straight forearm. Good depth of brisket and wellspring rib, with slight tuck up into loin. Well bodied and in excellent coat and condition with a nice tight curl. Pleasing feminine wedge shaped head expression with well set ear and good size.

3rd: Clack & Eddery’s Sh Ch Molokain Hocus Pocus

VB (1)

1st: Moskowitz’s Blue Willow At Ravenho. Unfortunately, carrying rather too much weight today. Well boned with straight forearm. Good depth of brisket. Would have liked a slightly better lay of shoulder. Level top line with correct tail set. In good coat with nice tight curl.
