Activities

NEFRA Spring Working Test, 29 March 2026
The Northern England Flatcoated Retriever Association Spring Working Test took place on Sunday at Red Hall Farm, Crewe.
Judges: Ms Sharon Kitson (B3459), Ms Sarah Middleton & Mr Henry Carney

We are thrilled to report that we had Curly representatives there taking part. Jeannette Findlow and Marion (Roughyeds Gold Stick Cellar) were entered in the Novice Stakes which had a strong entry. Jeannette told us,
Despite the weather yesterday we had a great day at the NEFRA spring working test. This is the first time they have opened any of their tests to minority breed retrievers and IWS and I hope they continue to do so. It looks like Marion finished 6th out of 14 in Novice, we are really pleased with her. Nick Eden was also there in novice, along with other minority breed entries – 2 CBR and 2 IWS.
There were three tests to start with making use of a wood, water and jumps, with a walk up at the end. It was a really friendly day with judges giving good advice at the end.

Well done Marion!

Linsey Dunbar (Linirgor)
Open (3/0)
1st Cummings’ Maycourt Island Girl For Breichside, Seemed initially rather overawed with her experience. When settled she was the soundest in the class. Lovely wedge shaped head of good proportions. Good spring of rib, clean in neck, good forehand, well boned and good feet. BOB
2nd Cummings’ Molokain Enchanted One, Good neck and shoulder placement, well developed forechest. Pleasing head and expression. Did not move with the drive in rear of the winner.
