CCRC Winter Open Show & Limited Obedience, 2 November 2025
Entries are now open for our Winter Single Breed Open Show with 5 Classes of Limited Obedience, at Tomlinsons Canine Centre, Leicester.
Our judges are, Show Judge – Breed Specialist Cameron Stokes (Twizeltree) & Obedience Judge – Sue Margerison (Kandrelli).
Entries are online through Fossedata and close at Midnight on Sunday, 19 October 2025. Please note there will be no extensions.

Breed Representation at Autumn Show & Horse Trials, South of England Agricultural Society, Ardingly, 27 & 28 September 2025
This weekend saw the final country show of the year that Curlies attend. Rachel Arnold, James Dobson and Kopis – Roughyeds Regal George At Treecave, were there all weekend and Beth Spencer and Tolly – Crimblescurl Elm, came Saturday. Lots of people came round, with some who had had Curlies before or grown up with them, as well as those for whom the breed is new to them. Both Tolly and Kopis showed the crowd how Curlies work the shooting field, ending with youngsters ‘having a go’ with handling a gundog.
Gundog Training – South West Hub, 24 September 2025
Nina Parker-Miles told us, ‘Wednesday marked our last evening of training this year at Malmesbury with Jill Gardner. Jill set up some mock tests for the group and then we retired to the tea room for homemade shortbread and tea with a masterclass on test competition. Superstar ‘Trip’ of Foxcote Golden Retrievers also joined us to bask in the glory from winning his trial last week !
Just three dogs this week due to illness and bitches in season so we had Heather and Iris – Overbore Bombette For HisRiver, Rachel and Kopis – Roughyeds Regal George At Treecave, and Rach and Gunner – Maycourt I’m Still Standing.
The tests consisted of a walk up with long range memory retrieves after forward marks, we then moved onto searching for a number of blinds in undergrowth which was timed. We then had marked retrieves over a wall into a fenced area. Final test was a walk up with long range memory retrieves . All the dogs completed the tests and the winner was announced as Gunner with Rach Jack who took away the prize choccies. Certainly one to watch in the future excelling at just 10 months old !
Training will resume in the spring once the season has finished. Anyone looking to join can contact me, we are a friendly bunch and Jill can adjust the training to whatever level you are at with your Curly.‘
