Show Gundgog Working Certificate, 25 January 2025
Huge Congratulations to Bea Barber & Edgar – Tonispada Vuori Vincent by Blanshard, on gaining the Show Gundog Working Certificate, at just 2 years old.
Bea’s mum Heather Barber who is of course our Club Working Co-ordinator, said, ‘So proud of Bea and Edgar (Tonispada Vuori Vincent by Blanshard) for achieving their Show Gundog Working Certificate (SGWC) today in Dumfries – especially as at 2 years he’s only just started picking up this season!
Big thank you to Northumberland & Durham Labrador Retriever Club & South West Scotland Working Gundog Association for organising and running the day and of course the judges.’

Isle of Wight Gundog Monthly Match & Dog of the Year, 26 January 2025
Binni Milichamp reported, ‘Wow great afternoon at the Isle of Wight Gundog Monthly Match and followed by Dog of the Year, Torin (Foxriever Solent Sensation at Wightcurls) got Res Best Adult in the Match, then in Dog of the Year Hudson (Foxriever Sea Shadow) won Best 2024 Promising Puppy, and Viggo (Foxriever Solent Solstice at Wightcurls) Res Best Adult many thanks to all the committee for organising and for everyone who brought delicious food, and to our judges Laura Wilcox for standing in the monthly match, and our judge for Dog of the Year, Judith Whitworth.‘

2 Cummings Mrs Jean Molokain Enchanted One Head of correct shape with a slight stop moderate neck good feet but she was overweight and I felt this inhibited her movement today.

1 Stephens. Brightmeadow Come on Eileen. Elegant throughout, with a lovely work-like cheeky attitude. Correct wedge shaped head, slight stop, large oval dark eye. Strong medium neck, free from throatiness flowing into well placed shoulders. Correct angulations front and rear. Deep chest, ribs yet to spring and still a youngster. Strong throughout, powerful loin, strong muscular straight rear. Tail flows from topline and held correctly. Effortless mover. Lovely bitch, look forward to seeing her mature.

1 Stephens. Brightmeadow Rumour Has It JW. More mature of these two youngsters. Eye catching male, that you just can’t keep your eyes off. Elegant throughout. Correct wedge shaped head, slight stop, parallel planes. Correct oval, dark eye. Strong neck flowing into well placed shoulders. Chest deep with fore chest visible. Correct length of body. Held topline at all times with tail flowing off the back and held correctly. Effortless movement. Nice to see a cheeky side to this dog. BOB – Enjoyed seeing him get shortlisted in the group.
