12 July 2026 – The day after the CCRC Champ Show
This year as well as the Gundog Training on the Sunday, we have a fantastic alternative opportunity, something a bit different….
We have a chance to run a workshop facilitated by Twisted Earth Ceramics, where you will get the opportunity to create your own sculpture of a Curly. There would be a maximum of 12 places available on the day, and the cost would be £95 per person.
If you are interested in attending, please can you contact Jo Clayton as soon as possible either by email or on 07811 329109, so we can guage interest.
Richard from Twisted Earth Ceramics is an award winning ceramic animal artist, his work has evolved over many years and through hundreds of hours of studio time, workshops and classes. He has incorporated all the best bits he’s learned, developed interesting techniques, and he now teaches step by step workshops which are perfect for complete beginners and for those with some experience. The sculptures can be created in a seated or resting pose. Here are some examples…

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme
Congratulations to Rachel Arnold and Kopis (Roughyeds Regal George At Treecave) on passing the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award.
Taking on a Challenge…
Club members Aly, Paul, Edward and Jacques took on the challenge of walking up England’s highest mountain, Scarfell Pike. Aly told us “It was a glorious day with clear skies and lots of lovely people to meet. Jacques was a wonderful breed ambassador greeting everyone he met and Edward dutifully told them he is a curly coated retriever. I’m so proud of how they both took on this challenge with Edward walking most of the way at only 3 years old.”

Correctly set ears of correct shape and size. Medium length of strong slightly arched neck Good front angulation and ok rear angulation. Good tight feet and enough bone. Tight crisp curls. Moved ok.

1 & BOB 247 Bains’s Crimblescurl Time To Tango at Wenichones JW – 5yr old bitch – Well balanced bitch, full of breed type. Feminine wedge shaped head viewed from side and front profile. Dark oval eye with a kind expression. Medium strong neck with no throatiness, leading to good shoulders and front angulation. Good forechest, well sprung ribs, short loin level topline. Strong muscular hindquarters. Tight feet. Crisp black curls.
