Huge congratulations to our very own Lou Moskowitz (Ravenho) on the successful opening of a Spring exhibition featuring her work.

Great to see all the different things Curly people get up to when they are not showing or working their dogs.

Merseyside Gundog Club, 4 February 2024
Judge: Jean Byrne (Enryb)
An overall well constructed youngster. Typical in head with correct wedge shape, dark eye, correct earset. She is developing well but I would prefer more body length, solid topline and well ribbed. Adequate rear angulation and tight well arched feet, a steady sound mover.

Two promising littermates in this class, both puppies, I felt the black bitch had the edge as she is more together at this stage. Very pleasing feminine head of excellent shape and proportions, strong neck that flows into sound front assembly and has adequate bone. Correct depth and firm loin with just enough rear angulation and stands on strong hocks. Good tight crisp coat and the best mover today. Please to award her BOB and BP
Well grown liver dog who presents a balanced outline with correct angulation.
He has an attractive wedge shaped head with dark eye, pleasing arch to neck and well laid shoulders. He has good length of upperarm and deep in chest. Robust hindquarters with good width to thigh. A confident youngster with sound movement, holds his topline well in profile. Needs a big ring to show himself off to advantage Close decision. Res BOB

A compact bitch with typical feminine head and dark eye. well laid shoulders and correct spring of rib. Well-made quarters, stifles moderately bent and has strong hocks, a little flat on the move today.

2 James’ Curly Coat Kahawei Sea The Stars
Another Champion in the making! This 9 months Liver is well grown, well constructed and possesses a super coat for his age and colour. He has a correctly proportioned head, plenty of ribs and correct moderately angulated quarters. One to follow.

1 Stephen’s Ravenho Looks Like Trouble For Brightmeadow. Upstanding male, bold masculine head. Good quarters fore and aft. Good underline, good tail, moves well. BOB.
2 Courtier Maycourt Take Me Top The Top. Lovely bitch, just not rear quarters of winner. Good coat, nice head and expression.

Open (2)
1 Edworthy Maycourt Heartbreaker. Dog, good quality, not overdone. Nicely balanced, good mover.
2 Perkin’s Tengore Ruby Tuesday. Lovely bitch, ultra feminine. Good fore and aft, just little in rear movement.

Boston & District Canine Society, 17 December 2023
Judge: Eleanor Bryant (Phenset)
My first appointment in this breed and one that I enjoyed. Thank you to the exhibitors for supporting the classes. I must urge a couple of handlers not to overstretch their dogs. The standard calls for a strong, level topline and moderate turn of stifle. These attributes are shown best when the hind feet are properly placed.
Puppy (3,2a)
1 Clinch’s Roughyeds Regal Fairbanks TAF. Beautifully presented, 7 month old black bitch. Appealing head, with correct wedge shape, slight stop and dark, obliquely set, oval eyes. Correct oval ribcage with excellent depth for her age. Strong level topline and no excess tuck up to flank. Well angulated and so well balanced, standing on nice round feet. Lovely crisp coat. Moved with good extension and drive, with a bit of youthful exuberance. BP.
Junior (2,1a)
1 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic At Thunderguard. Black dog of 17 months, who was just lacking in confidence having his hindquarters handled today. I hope he settles with age, as he does look promising. Masculine, well shaped head with dark eyes, a very gentle expression and correctly set ears. Medium length neck set into well laid shoulders. Good spring of rib, extending well back. Moderate turn of stifle. Going through a coat change at present, but well covered. I would like him a little neater when moving out and back, but ground covering side gait secured his win in the following class.
Post Graduate (3,1a)
1 Emery’s Foxriever Midsummer Magic At Thunderguard.
2 Clinch’s Roughyeds Hilda Ogden TAF. Liver bitch of 4 years, well presented in hard working condition and with a delightful showgirl temperament. Feminine head with good eye colour and correctly set ears. Strong, clean neck flowing through to a strong level topline. Well sprung ribs with good depth to brisket. Not the angulation of the 1st, but very well balanced and moved with drive.
Open (2)
1 Clack’s Bazzy Inti Anka At Molokain (Imp Cze). Upstanding, 4 year old liver dog in excellent coat. Pleasing head and expression with correctly set ears. Good reach of neck set into excellent shoulders, with good length of upper arm and well boned forelegs. Round feet with well arched toes. Deep chest, correct oval rib cage and good depth in back rib. He moved with confidence, covering the ground well. BOB.
2 Baines & Hawley-Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory (Imp Pol). 5 year old liver dog, presented in good coat and muscular condition. Wedge shaped head with slight stop and oval eyes. Strong neck and level topline. Good depth to brisket and sufficient spring of rib. Well proportioned and balanced throughout. Not quite the length of stride of the 1st, but moved freely and with plenty of confidence.
