We Start With Some Sad News
It is with much sadness we share the news that Margaret Edworthy passed away earlier this week. Margaret was a long standing member of the Club and was well known to many in the dog showing community, especially for her beloved Curly Coated Retrievers. She was a lovely lady, who will be very much missed. We send our love and condolences to Martin Edworthy, and all Margaret’s family and friends.
Details of the funeral arrangements will follow once confirmed.
Carol Johnstone
We would like to send much love to Carol, CCRC Committee Member and an integral part of the Curly Comms Team, who unfortunately has had an accident. A CT scan showed her ankle broken in three places, and she has had to undergo surgery.
We wish you a speedy recovery Carol and hope to see you soon….

CCRC Gundog Training – Northern Hub, 28 June 2026
We are holding a Gundog Training Day at Lingholm Estate, near Keswick, Cumbria.
All abilities welcome – two sessions available:
AM – Beginners / puppies / adolescents;
PM – Novice / more experienced
All are welcome to attend both sessions and there’s no charge for Club Members
Meet at 9.30am for 10.00am start, don’t forget to bring your lunch & dog refreshments.

CCRC Champ Show Weekend, 11 & 12 July 2026
There will be a Gundog Training Day on Sunday 12th July, facilitated by our Curly Working Co-ordinator, Heather Barber. This event is free for Club Members.

CCRC Evening Gundog Training – SW Hub, 24 June 2026 – CANCELLED
Unfortunately gundog training on Wednesday this week, the 24 June, in Wiltshire has been cancelled due to the weather forecast and expected high temperatures.
The next training session will take place on 22 July, 2026, more details to follow….
Blackpool & District Canine Society, 20 June 2026
There were 18 Dogs, making 19 Entries, for Blackpool Champ Show, at Redwood Park, Inskip, Nr Peston, and Breed Judge, Mr Tom Johnston.

Windsor Championship Show, 25 June to 28 June 2026 – UPDATE – 24 June 2026 – This show has now been cancelled.
The Royal Windsor Championship Dog Show Committee has announced that following the forecasted severe weather warning for Thursday, they have taken the difficult decision not to open the showground to exhibitors or visitors on Thursday, the 25th June 2026. The safety and welfare of everyone attending the event, along with the well-being of the dogs, must remain the highest priority.
The judging schedule of the Terrier Group and the Hound Group have now been revised – The Terrier Group will now take place on Saturday 27 June 2026 and the Hound Group will take place on Sunday 28 June 2026, the same day as Gundogs.
In addition, on all remaining show days:
• The showground will open at 6:30am.
• Judging in all rings will commence at 8:00am.

Show Curly – Village Dog Show
Forrest (Ravenho Looks Like Trouble For Brightmeadow) has been back in the showring at the Village Dog Show with Annette Dimond and her granddaughter Miah. Forrest did really well winning first, second and third in three categories, Handsome Dog, Best Pedigree, and Young Handler. Annette said, ‘He behaved really well, he then went on to win Best In Show which was so amazing. Well done Forrest and to my granddaughter Miah for showing him, and he walked around with no pulling. He is a star Maggie Stephens we love him to bits…‘

1. Spraggins Tusepo Miss Scarlett. This youngster stood out on entering the ring with an elegant demeanour, strong in outline, head and skull with correct plains and proportions, nice eye with a gentle expression, neck of moderate length flowing into a well laid shoulder, forequarters of good construction with straight forelegs, pasterns strong, chest deep and with a well sprung rib carried back to a short coupling and powerful loin, rear assembly well muscled and with a moderate bend in stifle continuing the good overall appearance, coat good and with good curl, moved effortlessly with good extension and drive. BOB.

1. Spraggins Tusepo Amazing Love. Mother to the Junior class winner and showing a steady outline on the initial stack, head with good proportions and plains, neck strong of medium length fitting neatly to a well laid shoulder, front straight and muscular, feet tight with arched toes, deep in brisket with a good spring to rib carried back to a well toned loin, well toned in 1st and 2nd thigh on a moderate bend in stifle, coat thick and with a good feel in curl, moved with a steady parallel gait with good extension. RBOB.
