CCRC Gundog Training Day – Sunday 3 March 2024
Introductory Gundog Training Taster Workshop
2 sessions for two different groups
Morning 9.00 for 9.30 – 12.00, Afternoon 1.30 for 2.00 – 4.30. Maximum of 6 handlers per session.
£45 per handler per session
Held on purpose built training ground at Malmesbury, Wiltshire.
To include –
– Meet, greet, tea & coffee etc.
– Introductory chat about the session and understanding handler’s goals
– Individual and group exercises sharing ideas to start training, making it fun and fulfilling
– Ideas to resolve difficulties and problems that can occur in training
– Close out chat and ideas for forward plans
Run by Jill Gardner, owner of Foxcote Golden Retrievers. “I have successfully trained, worked and competed my Goldens for 35 years. I’m a Kennel Club B panel field trial judge also judging working tests including minor breeds. I routinely provide reward based, supportive 1:1s and workshop training. Through this, I’ve gained a wide range of experience of many gundog breeds and the training challenges that can arise. Above all I love helping people to have the best fun and rewarding times with their dogs!”

Gill Boorman has been Gundog Training this week with ‘Austin’ Sh Ch Tessmene Talk Of The Town. She’s so proud of him, it was his first time retrieving over a jump and also his first time retrieving cold game. What a star he is, handsome and clever, well done Aus! Not only that Gill posted some fabulous photographs of him in The Working Curly Coated Retriever FB Group.

1 8174 STEPHENS, Mr & Mrs J & M B Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW Sh.CM. Retriever (Curly Coated). Strongly made, masculine and very handsome. He was my group winner at Windsor two years ago. Now a Veteran and he does epitomise the breed standard. Flat broad skull. Kind expression. Clean, well laid shoulder, good bone, legs and feet. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Good quarters, short from hock to heel. Excellent coat and condition. Free moving and sound.
