Our Open Show Judge is:

Caroline Griffin-Woods (Migwell)

An introduction – Many many thanks for the wonderful appointment to judge the breed club show.
I started showing my dogs in 1992 with my Weimaraner “Jutta”. She was the first of my dogs to carry the “Migwell” affix. Migwell was my Husband’s nickname for me.
I got my First Chessie in 1997, we had fun, Mudge and I.
I am lucky enough that my current Chessie male -Broc was made up to a full champion in 2023. If I am honest, I am happiest out beating/picking up. Getting muddy and wet.
I started my judging in 2010 and awarded my first set of CBR Tickets in 2018.
I have a soft spot for Curlies, both our breeds are often around each other at shows so I have several curly coated friends. I am of course talking about the dogs..
I am looking forward to judging the dogs against the standard.
Caroline Griffin-Woods

2 and RBOB Courtiers Maycourt Cover Shot b a very attractive liver b, feminine head and pleasing eye corresponding with coat colour, standing on straight forelegs and strong pasterns, good depth of chest with slight tuck up and a level topline and well muscled in the rear with a good bend of stifle, not quite the ground covering strides of the winner but lots to appreciate here

1st – Tusepo Miss Scarlett (Mr N & Mrs S D Spraggins)
An eight month old bitch who when settled shows the most impressive outline on the stack. She is a very feminine bitch with a lovely wedge shaped head, nice dark eye, good ears. Stands on nice tight feet, she has a lovely lay back of shoulder and is developing well in body with ribs well back and showing plenty of spring. Shown today with an impressive jacket of tight crisp curls. She moved out with a good amount of reach and drive whilst having a little fun. Still needs to fill her frame at the moment which is expected for eight months, if she continues to develop as she has done so far, I think she will be one to watch as she gets older RBOB & BP

1st – Sh Ch Rowancurl Gentle Gaelor (Mrs H M Hodson)
An upstanding four year old black male who is definitely not short of drive, this boy really pushes out on the move having good extension with every stride, whilst holding a level top line throughout. Not over-exaggerated in any way. Quite the most fabulous head, balanced with the correct planes, good dentition and a nice dark eye. Medium length of neck, which is slightly arched. Developed forechest, forelegs well under him and ribs well back and sprung. Correct finish to the croup and well set on tail which was used to advantage on the move. Moderate bend of stifle and in good muscular condition. Tremendous coat of super tight curls. Presented and handled to advantage. BOB.
2nd – Tusepo Amazing Love (Mr N & Mrs S D Spraggins)
A five year old liver bitch, I really liked this girl. A very feminine bitch who shows a very balanced outline on the stack, nicely made throughout. Well proportioned head with well placed neat ears. Shoulders are well laid back and she has the required return of upper arm. Level and firm in topline with a good finish to the croup. Moderate bend of stifle. She just didn’t have the extension on the move as one today and needs a little more enthusiasm.
