Judge’s Critique

So nice to get back out to a dog show, and have the privilege to judge CCR again. Thank you for a lovely entry. Despite the break the dogs were steady and true in charichature, which made the day extra enjoyable.

PD (2) 1 Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker. Well grown, strong upstanding 9 mth dog, like his outline, tight well curled jacket, strong masculine head which is wedge shaped, strong well set neck, straight front, with strong pasterns, deep well sprung ribs, well bent stifle, moved well once settled. 2 Nunn’s Tessmene Southside Fizz. Needs a bit more time to come together and develop his coat, just love his head with correct proportions, lovely oval eye, fringed by his small well set ears, good turn of stifle which he uses well on the move with an effortless smooth gait.

JD (5, 2) Two nice quality dogs. 1 Boorman’s Tessmene Talk Of The Town. Nice quality liver dog, lovely temperament, excellent tightly curled coat, quite a finished outline for his age, good balance, straight front, deep well sprung ribs, nice strong quarters, moved out effortlessly with a powerful gait and maintaining straight limbs with correct footfall. One to watch. Best Special Beginners. 2 Edworthy’s Maycourt Heartbreaker. 3 Parker-Miles’ Tengore Mr Moonlight. Another nice quality dog who is well grown and has good masculinity, lovely head, just needs a bit of time to settle.

PGD (3, 1) 1 Miller & Millichamp’s Foxriever Solent Sensation At Wightcurls. A well grown strong liver dog, balanced outline with good proportion, strong masculine head, well angulated front and rear, excellent dense tightly curled coat, moved out with free action and good reach of stride. Res Best Dog. 2 Parker-Miles’ Tengore Mr Moonlight.

LD (1) 1 Miller & Millichamp’s Curlabull Dark Moon Rising At Wightcurls. Strong masculine head, nice small ears lying close to his head, strong neck, nicely angulated front and rear, straight front, nice tight round feet, deep well strung ribs, level topline, moved nicely in profile.

OD (3, 1) 1 Mistlin’s Maycourt Starman By Crookwood ShCM. Lovely quality 7 year old liver dog, tightly curled dense coat of nice texture, who is masculine without being overdone, love his balance, typical head, strong level topline, straight front and nice tight round feet. Moved out with good reach of stride. Best Dog. 2 Courtier’s Stairway To Heaven. Unsettled today, strong masculine head, good coat, straight front and tight round feet, deep rib cadge, rather stilted moment today. Sp Beg D (2, 1) 1 Boorman’s Tessmene Talk Of The Town. Winner of junior d.

VD/B (1) 1 Miller & Millichamp’s Curlabull Iron Lion Zion ShCM. Best Veteran. 9 year old black dog, with a good jacket, who has such a lovely bold and friendly temperament, lovely head with a large oval shaped obliquely set eye which is dark nice stop, good balance between muzzle and skull, nice reach of neck, level topline, nicely angulated front and rear, deep well sprung ribs, straight front, round feet, hocks well let down, nice free ground covering moment.

PB (3) 1 Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven. Well grown bitch who has lots of femininity, and a nice happy personality, felt she was at the right stage of development for her age, pleasing head, good bone, nice balanced angulation front and rear, straight front, good tight well arched feet, moved with enthusiasm. Best Puppy. 2 Jones’ Lizallwood Peggy Sue. Nice quality liver bitch who also showed her study and friendly personality, not yet together on the move, but has a pleasing head, exelent coat, balanced angulation and straight front. 3 Stephens’ Brightmeadow Take One Look. Needs to grown on, but a very feminine youngster with excellent coat, and wedged shaped head, unsettled not he move.

JB (5, 3) 1 Carrick’s The Cats Whiskers. Best Junior, Best Bitch, BOB and JG2, took my eye straight away, lovely quality, black bitch with a really good with a tight dense coat of correct texture, balanced head with a good shape, nice obliquely set oval eye, nice neck balanced angulation, straight front and good tight round feet, a little unsettled on the move at the beginning but settled and moved truly. So pleased to hear she did so well in the junior group. 2 Courtier’s Maycourt Stairway To Heaven.

LB (2, 1) 1 Stephens’ Brightmeadow Who’s That Girl. Good quality highly curled liver coat, nice outline, wedge shaped head, nice deep well sprung ribcage, good topline and tail set, really good strong quarters, which she used well to really drive on the move with good parallel movement.

OB (1) 1 Carrick’s Tessmene Diamond In The Sky. Res Best bitch, very steady, mature 7 year old bitch, didn’t put a foot wrong, lovely head and expression, correct eye and ear placement, good reach of neck, nice topline, croup and tail set, good feet, moved truly.
