1st Barber’s Foxriever Picture Perfect for Blanshard. This pup had the straightest front of the class. He was well balanced and in an excellent coat of crisp curls. Eye colour was well matched to the liver jacket. Nice small ears and excellent slight Roman nose present. Good tight front feet, on well boned legs. Topline level and tail set correct. Best mover in class. BP

2nd Millichamp’s Foxriever Solent Sensation at Wightcurls. Not quite the front of the winner. Has a lovely wedge shaped head but needs to grow into his ears. Has a nice reach of neck, not overdone. Has a strong topline but needs to strengthen behind, which showed on the move. Good tailset and length of tail.

3rd Tarelli’s Firecurl Some like It Hot at Tarockwood.

1st Masson’s & Glover’s Tessmene Summer Solstice. Nice dog with a masculine wedge shaped head. Nice Roman nose and nice parallel head planes. Eye colour matches dark liver coat well. Standing he is balanced, but I would prefer more angulation both in lay of shoulder and bend of stifle. He shows forechest and topline is level. In strong muscular condition with an excellent dark liver jacket.

1st Tarelli’s Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda at Tarockwood. This dog was the best mover of the class when he found his stride. Head shows a nice wedge shape from all angles. Ear set correct and good dark eye colour. Eyes were a little loose today. When stacked, he is balanced with sufficient angulation. Topline strong and kept on the move. Has a good depth of chest and a good reach of neck. Tail set could be a little higher.

2nd Driscoll’s Fleetpaw One for Arthur. This dog has a good front and depth of chest. His spring of rib is developing well. Head is wedge shaped, but I would prefer a slightly longer muzzle to balance the length of skull. Level topline and good tail set. Rear angulation is not as good as the front. Movement was very erratic at times. 3rd Baines & Hawley Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory. This is a nice dog, but he was too shy to be seriously considered today. Will need more ringcraft to show him at his best.

It took time to settle the dogs in this class.1st Edworthy’s Maycourt Cadillac. This dog settled better with the change of handler and it showed him in a much better light. A Strong mature male with a nice mature wedge shaped head, without coarseness. Eye shape and colour good. Ear set correct and has a good reach of neck. Has a strong topline. He did not excel on the move.

2nd Barbers Pepperiever Phesants Eye over Blanshard. A smaller dog on a lighter frame. Good wedge shaped head and good oval shaped eye. Nice reach of neck and good lay of shoulder. Level topline and very moderate rear angulation. Had the most outgoing temperament of the class, but did not drive on the move today.

3rd Carlin’s Haneslau Cousin Jack.

1st Stephens’ Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW ShCM This dog shouts breed type in shape and outline. He is a picture of balance standing and is strong throughout with plenty of bone and a jacket of small crisp curls. He has a beautiful masculine wedge shaped head from all angles. Oval shaped eyes, with such dark pigment. Ears small and set correctly. Correct reach of neck into well laid back shoulders. Chest is of correct depth, to elbow and has good spring of rib. Shows plenty of forechest and holds an excellent topline. Excellent rear angulation and stands on 4 good tight feet with very short nails. On the move has both reach and drive, tends to converge on the move, as expressed in the breed standard. DCC & BOB. Glad to hear he was placed in the group.

2nd Mercer & Thomas’ Elkysar Black Arrow Over Stormacre. Another good quality male. Slightly longer in the body than the winner but still within breed standard. Has a quality head, but is not as mature as the winner. Good eye shape, set and colour. Ears are of correct length and set. Has the correct reach of neck,a strong topline and excellent tail set. Standing he is well balanced, but on the move he is not as strong behind. In excellent jacket and has nice tight small feet. RDCC

1st Bett’s Elerrina Untouchable. This 9 year old dog is in excellent condition with excellent dentition for his age. In outline he has a good shape, showing balanced angulation and level topline. Correct wedge shaped head with nice small ears. He has a good depth of chest with good spring of rib. Tail set could be a little higher, to be picky. Moved with reach and some drive. Nice feet.

2nd Fielding’s Roughyeds Romeo Reuben. A dog with an elegant outline. Good depth of chest and nice reach of neck. Well balanced angulation, with the better tail set of the two. Moved okay.

1st Withheld. 2nd Baines & Hawley Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory. Well made dog, with balanced angulation. Good depth of chest and level topline. Has a good jacket but I could not get my hands on him today.

MPB (2,1)
1st Findlow’s Roughyeds Audrey Roberts. This 6 month old very raw pup is so sweet natured and confident. Head is correct for age, and shows a good eye and ear set. Her very dark eye colour is also good for her age. Standing, she has a nice front, good angulation and depth of chest reaching to elbow. She needs time to strengthen up in the rear but moved out confidently for one so young. I will watch her future with interest.

1st Mercer & Thomas’ Tyneside’s My Heart Will Go On to Stormacre. Quality bitch built on a slightly smaller frame. She has a feminine head showing a wedge from all directions, with nice dark oval eyes. She has a good reach of neck, and has a nice lay of shoulder. Her front and rear angulation are well balanced. She has an excellent tail set and an excellent tight jacket. When moving at a slower pace she had good reach and drive with plenty of width behind. This bitch will have a bright future. 1st James’ Kahawei Teal JW. This young bitch catches your eye as soon as she enters the ring, but when she moved I think I fell in love with her reach and drive. Outstanding feminine head with good eye placement, shape and dark colour. Ears are small and set at the correct angle, giving the head of parallel planes, the finishing touch. She was in a new jacket so the depth was not quite there, but she has the desired crisp tight curls. She has a good forechest, enough spring of rib and good depth to her chest. She has good, well balanced angulation and topline with an excellent tail set. She still needs to develop stronger adult thigh muscles but this did not affect her movement. A real quality bitch. BCC

1st Cooper & Denbigh’s Ir Ch Caballus Keep Left to Malanis. A mature top quality bitch, built on a bigger stronger frame but without coarseness. In an excellent jacket and in good condition. She has a lovely wedge shaped head, gentle expression from good eye shape and colour and ear set is correct. I would prefer slightly smaller ears. Excellent strong neck, with a good layback of shoulder and very straight front. Good spring of rib and length of rib, loin of correct length. Rear angulation improved when she relaxed. Moved well, if a little slowly. Considered for top honours.

2nd Findlow’s Ch All I Ever Wanted Golightly with Roughyeds. Another quality bitch showing confidence in the ring. More compact bitch than 1st but still a very pleasing outline. Nice head with dark oval eye. Good front and forechest. Topline held on the move. Good feet and in excellent jacket.
