Judge’s Critique
PD (1) 1 Stubbs’ Brightmeadow Take Your Time At Densdale. 10 months black, good height and overall balance. Lovely head with good proportions and length of muzzle. Strong clean neck of good length leads into correct front assembly. Firm topline when stacked with nice depth and width to his ribs. In good coat and body. Unsettled on the move but did enough to win here and was my Best Puppy In Breed.
LD (3) 1 Betts’ Infallibles Black Crusader At Kelsmere. Won this class on his head and expression. Lovely skull proportions with good eye colour and ear placement. Well boned through with good straight front. Well developed chest showing enough width and good depth. Level in topline. He has the required moderate stifle giving balance to his quarters. Carrying a bit too much body for me. This affected his movement especially in the challenge. 2 Masson’s Tessmene Summer Solstice. This 3 year old liver has a strong neck and well angulated shoulders. He is well bodied having good depth to his brisket and plenty of width to his ribs. He is strong and firm over his loins and well boned through. He moved well in profile. 3 Barber’s Foxriever Picture Perfect For Blanshard.
OD (3, 1) 1 Mercer & Thomas’ Elkysar Black Arrow Over Stormacre. One I had seen and admired as a youngster. So pleased to see how well he has matured. Quality curly male with strength and balanced in outline. He has good head with correct planes and dark eyes. Ears are well placed giving a typical expression. Strong in neck and straight in front, he is correctly constructed in shoulder. His elbows are nicely tucked in. He is well developed in body and has a firm topline with strength over his loins and width to his quarters. He was presented in first class coat. A pleasure to award him the CC, even more so to discover that this win earned him his well deserved title. 2 Johnstone & Stokes’ Sh Ch Talismanic Bag Of Tricks. My RCC winner from last time I judged. Looked well standing and again provides a picture of balance. Balanced in head, he has a good length of muzzle and is clean in throat. He has a strong neck of good length which leads into nicely angulated shoulders. He is correct in topline and has just the right amount of rear angulation. He was well presented in good coat and condition. Unfortunately, he was a little edgy today and did not do himself justice. Still a worthy RCC winner.
PB (1) 1 Bains’ Crimblescurl Time To Tango. Promising youngster of 7 months who should do well once settled. She is correct in head with good length of neck and well laid shoulders. She has enough bone whilst retaining her femininity. Level in topline with good width to her second thigh. She was in good coat for her age. Just needs to show herself to advantage.
JB (2, 1) 1 Mercer & Thomas’ Foxriever Flawless Flame Of Stormacre. I was really taken by this lovely 16 months liver today. Presented a super outline with balance, she did not disappoint on close inspection. Balanced in head with good length of muzzle and wedge shaped in profile. Her shoulders are well laid back and elbows tuck in nicely. She has enough depth for her age and is strong and firm over her loins. This gives a correct topline. She was in good coat and moved to advantage especially in profile. Should reach the top with maturity. RCC today.
PGB (4) 1 Cummings’ Molokain Enchanted One. On inspection, there is so much to like about this one. Lovely head with dark eyes and well set ears. Her clean neck leads into well placed shoulders. She is well developed in body and is balanced through. She has width and strength to her quarters and was in good coat. If her handler can get a bit more out of her, she should trouble the best. 2 Mercer & Thomas’ Tyneside’s My Heart Will Go On To Stormacre. Close up and a lot to like here. Correct head proportions and dark in eye. She is well boned and has strength over her quarters. She is in good coat and condition. Just unsettled on the move. 3 Eden’s Roughyeds Minnie Caldwell.
LB (3, 1) 1 Margerison & Davies’ Infallibles Black Velvet At Kandrelli. This 2 year old black has a good head, balanced with length of muzzle and correct ear placement. She has a clean neck of good length which leads to a straight well boned front. Well developed in ribs showing both width and depth. Good width to her quarters, her hocks are nicely let down. In good coat. 2 Cummings’ Molokain Enchanted One.
OB (3) 1 James’ Sh Ch Kahawei Teal JW. Eyecatching black who I have previously admired and awarded the RCC last time. My expectations have been fulfilled. Maturity has improved her. Super head with wedge shaped skull and that unique curly coat expression. A strong neck of good length leads to well laid back shoulders. Firm level topline and firm short couplings give correct balance. She has width to her quarters which she uses to advantage on the move especially in profile. This is topped by a super coat of tight curls. A well-deserved CC and Best of Breed. 2 Todd, Batlie & Batlie Hunter’s Jeweller’s Pride Jurajska Gwiazda (Imp Pol). Another quality of just two years. Balanced head with good neck and well angulated shoulders. Well developed chest showing good depth and well sprung ribs. She has strong quarters with good width to her thigh. Hocks are well let down. She was a little unsettled on the move but even so, showed good extension in profile. 3 Findlow’s Ch All I Ever Wanted Golightly With Roughyeds (Imp).
