Judge’s Critique:

May I thank you and the CCRC committee and members for asking me to judge your 40^th Championship Show, I was honored to accept and delighted with the entry of dogs on the day and the hospitality you provided myself and Tina.  The show location, ring arrangements and weather all played a part in the enjoyment of the day for me and I hope the members, committee, exhibitors and visitors had as much satisfaction.

I was more than satisfied with my winning choices and these dogs were a joy to have the opportunity to judge and demonstrate the observation of the breed standard.

Personally, I do prefer dogs that are capable of their intended calling and for me the Curly is an upstanding, strong, yet biddable worker.  The coats on view were generally in good order, movement was variable, with some weak and lacking in muscle.

Ring craft is important if exhibitors are to demonstrate the dogs best qualities, there should be no need to adopt the unnecessary trend of baiting or feeding in the ring as I find this distraction diverts the dogs attention from the job-in-hand.

Owning, showing and working Curlies is fun for us and should also be the same for the dog. Make everything a game and they will respond to your every wish!
