Critique

VD (1) 1 Whitehead’s Springcurl Spin Doctor for Foxriever. Very well made throughout and has kept his shape both stood and on the move. Pleasing head, eye and expression. Excellent depth of chest, firm body and strong powerful hindquarters. Moved soundly both fore and aft on a good stride, BV.

PD (2,1) 1 Johnstone & Stokes Talismanic Bag Of Tricks. Very taken with this young man who was so together for his age. Good make and shape with that degree of elegance in appearance the standard asks for. Typical in head, scores in neck and shoulders, lovely depth for a youngster, firm topline and well developed quarters. Positive mover with good reach and drive, BP and pleased to see him take PG3 in a strong line up.

GD (1) 1 Carlin’s Haneslau Cousin Jack. Good head shape with a pleasing eye and expression. Well made front assembly standing on good legs and feet. Excellent depth of chest with plenty of heartroom, well sprung ribs and a good tailset and carriage. Moved well.

PGD (1) 1 Haneslau Cousin Jack.

LD (3,1) 1 Mercar & Thomas’s Elkysar Black Arrow over Stormacre. A very sound honest dog of good size and built on clean and flowing lines and is nicely balanced throughout. Correct ‘wedge-shaped’ head, good eye colour and a pleasing expression. Strong muscular neck set in well placed shoulders, firm level topline and a pleasing bend of stifle. Moved with ease really covering the ground on a free and easy stride, Res.CC. 2 Mahons & Newton’s Curlabull New York Jet ShCM. Well made dog of overall pleasing confirmation and has a very typical appearance, upstanding with good strength throughout. Good head and eye, best of fronts, well developed body and nicely muscled hindquarters. On the day presented in the best of coats. Sound but not as positive on the move as the winner.

OD (1) 1 Phillips & Harris’s Laguna Love Desmond at Gladraggs (Imp) Still only young and sure there is more to come as he matures but is so well made and commanded your attention as soon as he entered the ring. Excellent bone and substance but still has the required element of elegance to complete the picture. Best of heads with a lovely eye and expression. Good front assembly standing on lovely legs and feet, well sprung ribs and powerful quarters. Soundest of movers with excellent reach and drive, CC & BOB. Was told afterwards his crowning ticket, well done.

PB (1) 1 Bett’s Talismanic Star Appeal at Kelsmere. Another very promising youngster who I see is the sibling of the puppy dog. Beautifully balanced for her age and presents a clean and flowing outline. Lovely head shape with the best of expressions. Scores in neck and shoulders, well developed body for her age and excellent width of hindquarters. Sound on the move but not the presence of her brother on the day but sure they will change places on another day as two quality puppies.

PGB (1) 1 Jones Lizallwood Hello Again. A sound honest bitch who is not exaggerated in anyway. Good size with pleasing bone and substance throughout. Typical in head, good ‘wedge shape’, dark eye, pleasing expression and well set ears. Very clean over the neck and shoulders, well sprung ribs, level topline that she holds on the move and well made quarters. In good coat on the day. Moved well on a positive stride, Res.CC.

LB (4,2) 1 Eden’s Kandrelli Eleonora’s Falcon. Balanced bitch of correct proportions with good strength but still keeps a feminine appearance. Pleasing head and eye. Strong muscular neck set in well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest with plenty of heartroom, well bodied and nicely rounded hindquarters. Moved okay but would have preferred a little more enthusiasm on the day. 2 Margerison & Davies Kandrelli Honey Buzzard. Litter sister to the winner. Felt her sibling had a little more scope and preferred the winners overall balance and outlook. That said she has a very pleasing head with a very typical appearance. Good legs and feet, firm topline, pleasing body and well muscled quarters. Another who could have been a little more positive on the move.

OB (2) 1 Whitehead’s Sh. Ch.Kelsmere Kamana for Foxriever ShCM. Lovely bitch from all angles and was an easy winner for top honours on the day. Beautifully balanced throughout and presents a very pleasing picture both stood and on the move. Best of heads with a lovely eye and expression. Excellent front assembly standing on good legs and feet. Well sprung ribs, excellent width of hindquarters and a good tailset and carriage. Very sound on the move with good reach and drive, CC. 2 Cooper & Denbigh’s Caballus Keep Left to Malanis (Imp). Pleasing sort of good size and of overall good make and shape. Typical head piece with the correct ‘wedge-shaped’ appearance. Very clean over the neck and shoulders, excellent depth of chest and strong quarters with a pleasing bend of stifle. Moved well. Would have just preferred a darker eye which spoilt her expression.
