Judge’s Critique

Many thanks to the committee for giving me this opportunity to go over a good number of worthy dogs. I very much enjoyed the day, and it was great to hear the applause given to the winners. On the debit side, rear movement was not good overall, and in many cases this was due to soft condition and a lack of muscle in the hindquarters. There were also a number of gay tails.

VETERAN DOG (2 entries) abs :1

1 Edworthy’s Sh Ch Maycourt Chase The Ace- a lovely dog to start off my day’s judging. 8 year liver with a beautiful outline. Super typical head and soft expression. Good forechest and correct angulation at both ends. Good bone, front and feet. Deep mature body in good condition, Not in his best coat today but could not be denied top honours. Best Veteran, Best Dog and BOS in Show.

MINOR PUPPY DOG (1 entry) abs :0

1 Masson’s Tessmene Summer Solstice – 7 months and well bodied up for age. Masculine head, would have liked a slightly darker eye. Strong bone, Straight front and good feet. Good depth of chest and correct hindquarters. Movement still needs to tighten. Res. Best Puppy in Show. PUPPY DOG (2 entry) abs :1 1 Driscoll’s Fleetpaw One For Arthur – 11 month liver. Pleasing head and expression. Good neck, shoulders and forechest. Correct bone and front. Deep chest and level topline. Enough angulation at rear. Coat good overall. Moved ok.

JUNIOR DOG (3 entries) abs :0

1 Driscoll’s F. One For Arthur 2 Tarelli’s Hunters Pride Jurajska Gwiazda At Tarockwood (IMP POL) – 14 months black dog. Good head and attractive outline. Would have liked more front angulation. Good bone, front and feet. Proud of his tail today on the move which spoiled the picture. 3 Baines & Hawley-Clarke’s Karnawalowy Drink Z Basisfory (IMP POL)
