Puppy (7) Fabulous turn out of puppies all of which were very much of similar quality. I learned that most were from the same littler and the type was evident. A testament to the skill of the breeder well done. All these puppies will change places over the coming months in their puppy career.

Junior (4,2)
1 Sutton & Whitehead’s Foxriever Immortal Spirit Classic masculine head with a sweet expression. Gave an overall image of elegance without losing masculinity. Great mover. Topline held well throughout. Definitely one to watch in the future, a real joy to judge in the present. RBoB
2 Sutton & Whitehead’s Foxriever Fire Fly (AI) This 8-month-old dog was still quite young with some maturing to do but to be expected at this age but still pulls together an overall image of balance. Lovely deep liver colour with great pigmentation. Good ear set. Good sweep of stifle. Another puppy with a promising future.
Open (3,1)
1 Sutton & Whitehead’s Foxriever Grey Ghost Another liver dog, this one almost 3 years of age with great substance with good drive where topline was held steady at all times. Another masculine head piece. Shown in good condition. Tail well set which gave a pleasing tail carriage when on the move. Bob

Dukeries (Notts) Gundog Club, 15 February 2025
Judge: Jo MacLaine (Greyspirit)
Puppy
1 Foxriever Immortal Spirit – 7 mth lad of good size. Presented a good outline. Correct coat with well defined tight curls. Correct wedge shape to head, dark eye and well set small ears. Sufficient forechest, strength to neck which was clean through laid back shoulders to correct topline. Balanced angulation fore and aft, good bone, depth and width to chest and decent width to second thigh and well set and carried tail. Food feet. Moved well. BP & RBOB.
Open
1 Foxriever Grey Ghost – 2 ½ yr old liver male. Better behaved on the move and stack than 2nd. Pleasing outline, although not quite as clean in throat as 2nd. Correct head and expression. Forelegs well under body, good bone and neat feet. Correct top and underline, correct moderate angulation and moved the truer of the 2 in this class. BOB.
2 Rowancurl Gentle Gaelor – 3 yr old black male. Thought this would be my BOB but he was being naughty and difficult to assess. Another who presented a typical balanced outline and had a gleaming coat. Appealing head, strong neck and clean throat, well off for bone, a little flatter footed than 1st on this surface. He had a gleam in his eye and was not for co-operating, being unsettled on the stack and on the move where he was moving a little close behind and wide in front.
