Activities

The Working Curly
Elaine Huckle and ‘Forrest’ – Foxriever Storm Cloud, had their first go at field work, being invited to join a shoot on Saturday 18 January. He and Elaine had a fantastic day, Forrest wasn’t sure about feathers at first but did some fine retrieves. He also got lots of compliments.

What a great week for you both, show dog Thursday and in the field working hard Saturday.

Lost Dog Tracking
Shirley and ‘May’ – Fleetpaw First Lady, have been out tracking another lost dog.
They were given a missing point (yellow spot) and were also given the last sighting point (blue spot).
The light was running out and the tracking team were discussing a plan on what to do next when they got a call to say the dog had been picked up on a road.

Well done Shirley and May on helping another dog get home, you were an integral part of the search team.

Critique

Richard Morris’ Critique is now available on here the Show Results page.

Lichfield Canine Society, 4 January 2025
Judge: Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)
Gundog Group
Group 2. Clack & Eddery-Molokain Hocus Pocus
Most impressed with this 2 year old black Curly Coated Retriever bitch. Upstanding with lovely substance yet retaining her femininity. Nicely balanced wedge shaped head and dark eye. Strong neck flowing seamlessly into a firm topline. Chest is well let down and with a good spring to the ribcage. Well boned limbs and tight feet. Liked her strong hindquarters which she used to drive around the ring. Presented in a super mass of tight curls.
