Ozzy’s Memorial Fun Scurry at CAST Dog Training, 11 October 2025
A big shout out to Caroline Penistone of CAST Dog Training for once again hosting this event for a third year to remember Ozzy the Cocker Spaniel and to raise funds for the Pet Blood Bank. The morning session at Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire included a Scurry with Dummies/Toys with rosettes for the winners, Lunch & refreshments, and a raffle for 2 Dog Hampers. It was really well attended with 26 dogs entered and the Curlies were out in force…..:
8 Curly Coated Retrievers
7 Spaniels
5 Labradors & Lab crosses
4 Golden Retrievers
2 Non Gundogs – a Border Collie and a Boxer.

Caroline said the Curlies were the largest entry… we laughed, that never happens, does it….

Results for the Curlies were:
1 Sorrel – Firecurl Ace – Jo Clayton
2 Basil – Firecurl Maxim – Wendy Tarelli/Caroline Penistone
3 Glory – Curlies On Wings Crossroad Glory – Shirley Buchanan
4 (joint) – Clover & Hebe – Firecurl Georgie Porgie & Gamesmere Dancing Queen At Firecurl
Well done gang!

Marina Lofthouse, Ozzy’s owner, said, ‘Thank you again to everyone who came along, took part, and supported the event. We hope you and your dogs had a great time xxx
One of the group said ‘It was a lovely day. Lots of fun and a great group of people. Well done Caz and Marina. This is what the world should be about. Love, support and friendship. xx’

A total of £330 was raised for the Pet Blood Bank.
