Curly Comms
We start with some very sad news….
We are sad to share that Neil Titley has died.

Neil and Mary have been stalwarts of the Curly Coated Retriever Club and Neil was a life member. For many, Neil and Mary were a great support to us when we began in the breed. Neil quietly went about supporting Mary and always had an encouraging word for those of us around the ring and enjoyed a chat. He will be greatly missed.
We send our love and condolences to Mary and the family. On behalf of the club we have sent a card and flowers to Mary.

They had an amazing day, with Tarzan – Sh Ch Brightmeadow Never Say Die JW (ShCM) back in the big ring, 6 months after retiring from breed judging, flying the Curly flag again. National Shooting Show, Harrogate
Curlies were represented at the National Shooting Show this weekend where Rachel, James and Kopis – Roughyeds Regal George At Treecave, went along for the weekend. Although not a usual breed awareness venue, Kopis really drew some attention. Rachel told us, ‘There were a lot of people who recognised him and the words “you don’t see many of them anymore” were uttered many times. Some people stopped us and told us stories of how they grew up with them, or their fathers used to work them on shoots. Of course this led to the inevitable question around his working credentials. Once confirmed he is indeed a worker, the impressed nods grew. Unfortunately the weather was too warm for him to have a go at the scurry, cooling coats and air conditioned boot breaks were the order of the day. In a world where labs have dominated the retrieving side, this weekend Curlies stood up and reclaimed their prowess. The main word heard summing them up? ‘Wow’. And you know what? I agree with them.’
Well done Kopis! Doing well in the field and the showring…!
