Curly Coated Retriever Club Trophies
Please don’t forget to send us your Show Results, they all count towards the points at the end of the year that determine who wins the coveted Club Trophies. Whilst we do our very best to collate show results throughout the year, for a lot of the Open Shows we are very much dependent upon those in attendance to let us know the results, and we are of course very grateful to our regular contributors. But please don’t rely on others, and remember if you miss out on a trophy because you didn’t send in your results, there can be no recourse once the trophy winners have been announced.

• Mentoring & Canine Midwifery Programme
This new initiative aims to support new and aspiring breeders by pairing them with experienced mentors who can offer guidance, reassurance, and practical advice drawn from their own experience.
Invitations to apply to become a mentor are being sent to breeders today, and we’ll also be sharing the announcement on our Facebook channel.
If you know of any breeders within your community who you believe would make excellent mentors, we’d be very grateful if you could share this opportunity with them.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend our first Canine Midwifery Day at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute on 2 December 2025, where they’ll help us shape and develop this exciting new programme.

• Congenital Heart Disease webinar
We are contacting you regarding an exciting webinar we are holding on Wednesday 12th November from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, which is freely available to anyone who would like to find out more about congenital heart disease in dogs.
In partnership with the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society (VCS), The Kennel Club’s Health team are pleased to invite you to the third webinar in our series of free webinars about heart disease in dogs. This session will build on the insights from our previous introductory webinar, presented by Dr Hannah Stephenson, and acquired heart disease webinar, presented by Dr Emily Dutton. In this follow-up webinar, expert cardiologist Dr Chris Linney will take an in-depth look at congenital heart diseases (present at birth) and how they differ from the more common acquired heart diseases that develop later in life.
For more information or if you’d like to attend the webinar, please register here.
