What a brilliant day at Tomlinson’s Canine Centre in Markfield, Leicester! We had our Annual General Meeting, a toast to our Club, the Champions Cake and Show Champion plaques, and Club Trophies for all those achievements during 2024. We had our wonderful Curly Club Shop and Club Raffle. Our Open Show judging was live streamed on the Curly Coated Retriever Club Facebook Page, and the recorded footage remains available.

Jo McKenzie and Tresco – Ravenho Toulouse Latresco At Beddgelert, have have been out and about at the Curly Coated Retriever Club Open Show on Saturday and at a scent work class on Sunday. Jo said, ‘Tresco had a great time on her second Scent work class at Dog Confidence. Lots more practice needed! Thanks Sophie from Wizz Dog Training UK SNIFFER Dog’.

1 Mrs H.S.M & Miss B.E. & Miss H.A. Barber, Tonispada Vuori Vincent By Blanshard, BOB – This dog took my eye straight away. Classy boy with attractive head and good dark eye. Correct scissor bite. Strong neck leading to well laid back shoulders. Deep chest. Powerful rear, good bone and feet. Moved effortlessly round the ring. I liked him a great deal.
Reserve Best In Show under judge Roz Bellamy (Woodfinch) – My Reserve Best in Show went to my first place in A.V.Gundog Graduate class. Only just over 2 years old, this young man shows huge potential. Looking forward to watching his progress.

2 Cummings, Mrs Jean, Molokain Enchanted One – A lovely CCR with a nice head. Good eye colour. She has a good neck and shoulders, good depth of chest, ribs well back, short loin and a strong well angulated rear. Lovely coat. Moved nicely.

1 Ms M Edworthy, Maycourt Heartbreaker, BOB – Handsome individual who is fully mature. Correct proportions in head with strength in foreface. Kind in eye. Plenty in neck with good fill in forechest parallel forelegs. Ribbing is extended well back to a firm loin. Topline is level and leads to correct croup and tail set. He stands on quality bone with compact well knuckled feet. Moved out on the out and back displaying accurate footfalls and was presented in dense coat of correct texture. BoB.
