CCRC February Open Show & AGM, 8 February 2025

Entries are now closed, and the numbers are in for our Open Show, 47 Dogs, making 56 Entries, plus 5 NFC.
The show opens at 10.00am, our AGM starts 10.30am, and judging starts 11.30am. We welcome our judge, breed specialist, Dawn Hall (Ghilgrange). Yearbooks will be available, also there will be our fabulous Club Shop, and the Club Raffle/Tombola – all prize donations gratefully received.

Activities

We have two Club members with exciting achievements to announce this week…..
Dog Grooming
Agnes Murphy (Silvora) has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for services to Dog Grooming.
At The International Grooming Conference she received the Liz Paul Lifetime Achievement Award, voted for by groomers.
Agnes started her grooming journey in 1984. She did her first grooming competition in the late 80’s, and has won first places grooming gundogs, terriers and poodles. At Intergroom in New Jersey she won a Gold Medal with a hand stripped Scottie and won the Cardinal Crystal Award for International Groomer of the Year. Agnes also judges at Grooming Competitions both here and abroad. She has shown and groomed Curlies, Irish and English Setters, American Cockers and Poodles. She started Scotgroom Training School in 1998 and retired in December 2024 after 40 years.

Dog Training
Mechelle Jacques (Curlabull) has been accepted into the prestigious International Animal Behaviour Training College list of approved instructors. The IABTC is overseen by Angela White, who is internationally respected in the world of dog training and the author of many dog training books. Mechelle is so pleased to be in the company of many of the country’s top trainers on the IABTC list.

The Working Curly
Kennel Club Working Gundog Certificate Day (Dummies), 2 March 2025 (Nottinghamshire).
This is open to Any Variety Gundog or Gundog x gundog, however they must be registered with the kennel club either pedigree or activity register.
The day will start with a welcome and discussion, followed by training session with A Panel judges and experienced Assessors going through some aspects of what is expected. After a break you will then undertake the assessment. Cost £50 training only or £75 training and wgc.

1st: 443 CLACK, Mr & Mrs Stephen & Elaine & BATLLE-HUNTER, Mrs Lynda & EDDERY, Mr Edward Krisbos Leonidas With Molokain (IKC) – 7 months old dog who is just right for age, Good head and body proportions for age, held his topline on the move, correct tailset and carriage, coat of crisp curls, moved soundly and was handled well.

1 Todd, Mr David & A Batlle Md Rahman, Jeweller’s Pride Jurajska Gwiazda (IMP POL), – upstanding male dog showing elegance and strength, correct wedge-shaped head with lovely black nose, correct in eye colour and shape, ears just above eye level, strong in neck with slight arch, legs placed well under body, chest deep and well sprung, strong and level topline, strong muscular rear quarters. Tail carried level on the move and moved with powerful gate around the ring. Coat correct with tight curl. Best of Breed
2 Cummings, Mrs Jean, Molokain Enchanted One – another 5-year-old with correct head although preferred 1, strong in neck and front quarters, body of good proportions, level in topline with good rear muscled quarters. Moved with good extension.
