Invitation to the Curly World Congress 2010
It is
with great pleasure we invite you to the 4th
Curly World Congress to be held in Great Britain in
July and August 2010. We, the Organising
Committee hope that as many curly owners as possible
worldwide would like to take the opportunity to
visit Great Britain. As well as spending time with
likeminded owners of Curly Coated Retrievers, our
breed of choice, you will be able to enjoy days out
in our spectacular countryside. We will keep you
posted of arrangements, and all details, as it
becomes available, will be sent to country
representatives for circulation. We look forward to
welcoming you to Great Britain, the country of
origin of our wonderful breed.
Watch
this space!!
Yours truly,
The
Organising Committee

The
venue itself is deep in the countryside yet
conveniently placed for visiting Shrewsbury
(pictures above) which is an old market town with
lots of historical buildings.
The Congress will be
held at a Small Animal College in Shrewsbury (The
Harris Centre, Walford Campus). For those of you who
have previously attended one of our Curly
Championship Shows the venue is 6 miles from the
Agricultural Showground which used to be our Show
venue. The College has its own small animal zoo (as
you will see from the picture of the meerkat below).

The judge for the
Championship Show is Mrs Tiina Illukka
The judges for the
Curly Working Test are Mr T Dukes and Miss F
Stevens.
We have arranged the
dates so there are 3 other Championship Shows to
attend during and after the Congress and they are:-
Paignton Championship
Show
3 August 2010
National Gundog
Championship Show 7 August 2010
United Retriever
Championship Show 11 August 2010
Therefore if an
overseas dog wins at 3 Championship Shows in the UK
they will be made up into a GB Show Champion.
There are excellent
camping facilities on site for those who wish to
camp or bring a caravan, dogs are allowed in the
College bedrooms.
In the halls of
residence there are kitchen facilities available,
all cutlery and crockery, kettles etc will be
available as will tea, coffee, milk and sugar.
We hope you like the
venue and location. Flights should come in to either
Manchester or Birmingham. There is a good motorway
system for those driving over.
